Update #16 · Oct 25, 2012 · comment

OK, thanks for hanging with us here.  It's still an ongoing process with the DVD release as we look at various possibilities with distribution, which have implications for when we can/cannot release the DVD.  It's kind of weird and complicated and frustrating, but nevertheless, the DVD will come.  And if we don't find a deal or we don't find what we are looking for, then we will release it ourselves and that'll be that.  Easy peasy.  Thank you for being patient.

In the meantime, here is a tour film we just finished up covering our time in Europe screening the film:

We are on the road right now for the Rust Belt tour screening tonight in Youngstown and tomorrow in Cleveland.  Pretty excited!

Thanks again for your support.

Royal Oak Screening on 3/22 and Other News

Update #14 · Mar 19, 2012 · comment

All,

We're excited to be screening the film again this week on Thursday, March 22 at the Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak.  After a sell out of our premiere at the DFT, we suggest getting your tickets in advance: http://bit.ly/zTvv7m and RSVP on the Facebook invite if you wish: http://on.fb.me/z8ixkL

All proceeds from the screening are funding a pretty cool neighborhood project at the Georgia Street Community Garden, one of the featured places in the film.  In short: We are building a remote control race car track on a vacant lot and putting a system in place where kids will have a variety of ways to earn car time through Mark's Community Collective (tutoring neighbors with school work, working in the youth garden market, etc).  Pretty cool.

In other news, we are getting ready to distribute the Kickstarter rewards for the film.  Unfortunately we still haven't pressed DVD's yet, so those will be distributed at a later date.  But be expecting a survey soon where you can specify shirt sizes and such!

Beyond that, we will be announcing some tour dates throughout cities in the USofA and some universities.  Steven, Andrew and myself are very excited.  Thanks again for your support from the get-go.

Premiere announcement and trailer viewing!

Update #13 · Jan 6, 2012 · 2 comments

Howdy,

We are honored and delighted to announce the premiere of the film at the Detroit Film Theatre inside the Detroit Institute of Art on Thursday, February 2 at 7pm.

The trailer is available on Vimeo here: http://vimeo.com/34660991

We also created a website for the film at http://afterthefactoryfilm.com/  where you can "like" us on Facebook and help spread the word.

Read an announcement on the DL! website: http://bit.ly/wsvyHN

All of this would not have been possible without your financial support, so consider yourself a part of this success!  Getting funded through Kickstarter was the key enabler to making this happen.

Hope to see you on February 2nd for the premiere!

Nearing Final Cut Mode and We've Got a Title!

Update #12 · Nov 21, 2011 · 1 comment

Howdy,

I posted a decent size update on the DETROIT LIVES! site (http://bit.ly/sGnTwe), but I will briefly cover the update here, too.

First, we've got a title: "After the Factory"

Second, we are nearing final cut mode so the film is almost complete.

Third, we are working out details for a Detroit and Lodz premiere, then a screening tour to follow.

Thanks again for your support and believing in the project.
