RuneEater

With the dawning of the twelfth cycle into this second millennium, Velnias, with the guiding hand of Pesanta-Urfolk unleashes the next chapter of their saga. The second opus of the Colorado Blackened Folk Doom Horde is entitled RuneEater and has been captured through entirely analog means between the 7th and 11th of November 2011 at Hiroshi House Studio.

The analog integrity of the recording shall be preserved as it is mixed and mastered from the 2" tape on which the album has been recorded to 1/2" tape and in the end cut straight to lacquer. From these masters this release shall become available to the world with the thawing of seas in April 2012 in LP, CD and Tape formats.

The LP will be housed in a triple-gatefold, of which there will be three editions: Standard edition (unlimited), ultra deluxe limited edition (ltd. 323) and a european-only "blood of kings" edition for the Agalloch/Velnias European spring tour (ltd. 500)

CD will be a limited and deluxe one-time only pressing.

Tape will be pro-dubbed with multipanel j-card.

With a project of this magnitude comes the requirement of massive resources. This is your opportunity to be a part of the fruition of this project. We are very proud to bring this project to life, join us in becoming a part of this conquest.

The Blood of Kings LP and CD version will be released on the Velnias/Agalloch European Tour. The American release is slated for mid May. This is the ONLY way to secure your copy. Kickstarter pledgers will receive their copies prior to the mid May general release.

Where your money is going

This album was not recorded at home on a laptop, this album was recorded and mastered over the course of two weeks on 2" tape at Hiroshi House Studio under the skilled expertise of John and Alex Renoir. The final mix will be handcut to lathe from a 1/2" tape master. These steps are not inexpensive by any means. We recognize we could have saved 4/5th of the total cost if we recorded this digitally and released digital download only, but we expect greater.

Funds will also be used commissioning art for this releases, and of course will be going towards the huge cost associated with pressing limited vinyl.

Between amazon payments and kickstarter fees, Velnias will receive roughly 10% less than what we are asking for. This was taken into consideration of the final cost.

We are not asking any one person to front this bill, so please support what you can. Consider the value of money before you make the assumption that our request is too much.

With or without your backing, this releases will see the light of day - This page has been created to speed up the process and to give folks the opportunity to pre-order. There will be no pre-orders accepted through Pesanta.
