To mark my 40th birthday, I'm showing Cageflowers, a collection of my latex clothes. No catwalk, just a mellow art show cocktail party with Sinner Saint Burlesque joining us for drinks and showing off the latex! The show will be from 7 to 9 p.m. in the back room of Liberty Bar in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle.

I will use the money that you donate for such things as:
- latex material and supplies
- dressmaking supplies
- invitations
- models
- music
- photographer

When I designed these clothes, I got my inspiration from 19th-century couture and, in particular, wedding dresses. To make dresses, designers clothed women's bodies with foundation garments such as corsets both to confine and display, minimize and emphasize. These contraptions were like cages, but were both hard and soft, angular and curved. I love these contradictions, and have tried to express them in my latex clothes, which I hope, walk the line between daring and demure.
