Dear friends,
We had a great shoot in Los Alamos at the beginning of this month. We walked and talked with micromike, we interviewed current and former lab scientists, and even spoke to the judge who judged Mike's case when he was first kicked out of his cave. We are now in the midst of editing all the great footage, lining up a few other interviews, producing the animations, the music, and setting up a couple of fun live-action shoots to round out our film. We are going to ask people how much they really understand certain common scientific concepts. Let's see but we have some suspicions of how that's going to turn out.
We are aiming to have the project edited by the end of March, for submission to festivals. Please join our facebook group for all the latest project info, as well as more photos and videos - http://on.fb.me/hRLe4v
Please also check out the webpage for the project at http://www.micromikefilm.com. There you have a chance to watch the trailer, and if you can, donate more to the project. We raised enough funds to get the project kickstarted, but could always use more to finish it right, especially for animations and music. Please spread that link to others who may want to help.
Here are some pics from the trip. We'll be posting more here and our facebook page.
Wishing you great adventures in the infinite cosmos!

Dear friends,
micromike is doing a radio interview tomorrow (Tuesday) morning (7:30AM MST) at a Los Alamos station! It will be streamed live here --- http://www.krsnam1490.com (click on the "Listen Live" link in the top left corner). We'll make the interview available later in the week at our film's new website: http://www.micromikefilm.com .
And here is a very poignant new message from micromike to all of you:
"In a perfect world and if I could have the life of my choice, I would be alone in the forest and only observe and think about the world around me. A true philosopher can only observe but not touch what he observes else he is no longer an independant observer but one who partakes. If anyone doesn't think this true about me, I don't know what else I could do. I've lived for years in the forest, gone without food, drink, heat, a bathroom, and more things than most americans can even manage. Even this very day, if not for morgellons and needing a place to keep my meteorite and its parts away from humanity, I would be in the forest thinking of space and time.
But one thought became very clear to me over time. If somebody didn't do something there would be nothing left for me to study. For the first time in human history, we are in grave danger of outstripping the entire resources of our planet as countless smaller groups have done through history.
So I made the decision to sacrifice my needs and wants to try to make a difference. I didn't pray to God as a child to let me watch something important but rather do something important. I think paul knows that I would prefer to not be in front of his camera and if we could afford actors to tell the story, I would prefer that. But I will sacrifice myself for this project because I'm the only one currently capable. And if anyone wants to know I am an introvert and hermit by nature yet I expend energy reaching out when it goes against every fiber of my being. But I sacrifice because my love of humanity is greater than my love for myself. Even little things like eating interupt my thoughts and steal from my time to think, so most often I get the quickest thing to eat, regardless of quality, just to return to my work.
When we speak of rewards, the only reward I have ever sought was to understand nature. God has shown me so much that all my rewards are here in the understanding. And the greatest thrill of all is to have a thought that is new, maybe to all humanity, although I'm sure the aliens had them long ago. But if humanity is to survive we must start having intelligent conversations about our existence, why we are here, and do we intend to survive. So we can please ourselves or sacrifice for humanity. I choose sacrifice over my own desires to be left alone and each of you has sacrificed something too. But in the end, love requires us to care about an order that is greater than our own. Thank each of you for your sacrifice to make the world a better place.
Your friend,
µmike
