What is Little Space Heroes?
Little Space Heroes is a virtual world for kids - an online gaming experience in
which kids create their own hero and explore a universe full of fun and
adventure. Little Space Heroes provides kids with an opportunity to play,
connect and socialise with friends online in an environment that is both fun
and safe.
We think that great gaming experiences can be both fun and beneficial for kids. Our game provides opportunities for self-expression, friendship, learning through interaction, discovery, achievement and of course some good old-fashioned fun!
We’re hard at work on our game and plan to launch in 2nd half 2011.
Tell me more about the game story?
Little Space Heroes is set in a distant and peaceful galaxy. Twenty years
earlier this peace was threatened by the arrival of Lord Shadowbot, a dastardly
robot with an unusual fear of the dark. When
he arrived in the Little Space Heroes galaxy he discovered their friends, the Glows - mystical
creatures that can create endless amounts of light.
Living up to his reputation, Lord Shadowbot stole the Glows and prepared to leave the Galaxy on his never-ending quest. However one person dared to stand up to him. A young hero named Ace rallied his friends and together they pursued Lord Shadowbot. They managed banish Lord Shadowbot from the galaxy, but many of the Glows were stolen away.
Returning home, Ace created the Little Space Heroes Academy to prepare new heroes so that Lord Shadowbot could never again return to repeat his tricks. All seemed well for twenty years but now reports are coming in of strange activity and more Glows disappearing. Some say Lord Shadowbot might be plotting a return...
Players enter the game and join the Little Space Heroes academy. They receive their very own Jet Pack, Space Suit and Starjet and are given training. Ace has some very important quests for players to carry out and the adventure begins straight away.
Who is Bubble Gum Interactive?
We’re a brand new independent startup based in San Francisco and Sydney, Australia.
We've taken the plunge, quit steady jobs, given up weekends and free time so that we can chase our dream to create Little Space Heroes. Our mission is simple: We want to create a game that will make kids squeal with delight!
Why are we raising funds?
We’ve gotten this far with our own personal investments - and a lot of working nights and weekends - but we still have some way to go. We’ve recently managed to raise some funding from private investors and have been pre-approved for a special
funding grant from an Australian government body. But we’re not quite there
yet. We need to pull in a bit more money to hit the milestone at which point
we’ll receive the grant.
This grant mean that we’ll be better able to focus our efforts on getting the game finished and launched.
What will the funds raised be used for?
We’ll use these funds raised – as well as the government grant – for product
development and have our game ready for launch in the 2nd half of
2011. Specifically, funding will go towards technical development of the game, art and design, building of support systems and integrating + optimising so that the game runs smoothly.
What if you exceed your funding target?
As with any startup we’ve had to
operate very lean so additional funds will help us improve the game, introduce
features we’ve had to cut and ensure our support service can provide the best
possible experience for players.
And of course, our rewards will still be available for all those who pledge.
What are the rewards?
All pledges will receive game memberships, ranging from 6-month passes to
unlimited lifetime memberships (for the life of the game). These are worth from $30 to $100. You'll be invited to join the beta and once launched you’ll
be among the first players of the game!
With higher amounts we’ll also provide awesome in-game virtual items that are exclusive to Kickstarter. The highest pledges will receive limited edition game posters or animation cells signed by the team.
All pledges will receive a mention on our Kickstarter Pledge credits page.
