Legend of The Lantern is the flagship HD feature film for True Legend Productions. It recounts the "Legend of Stingy Jack" and why we carve Pumpkins at Halloween. Descendant and New England high school student Michelle Carpenter fights an ancient evil bent on revenge.
The screenplay is complete, original and registered with the WGAe (Writer's Guild of America East). Being partly of Irish ancestry inspired the Director to write the story. So many people enjoy carving Pumpkins but many do not know the interesting story/legend behind it. Another important element of the story is family history/Genealogy. Since 9/11, many Americans and people around the world have become fascinated with this topic. A PDF copy of the screenplay is free to anyone that wishes to receive one.
We are currently in Pre-Production. Three musicians are already signed on for the project and they are awesome! They are: Patrick Edward Fagan, Dick Le Mair, and the Industrial band Goretek. Goretek's track "Under" is featured in the Teaser and is the core song of the film. Two other musical performers are being checked on and we will keep you posted!
Principal Photography is scheduled to start in mid-October in Massachusetts at an undisclosed location. Director Patrick Hall and son Andrew Hall (1st AD and Production Assistant) are set for the adventure along with a small, rogue crew of film maniacs.
The entire screenplay has been broken down and the filming schedule set out. All of the scenes are being shot as to location, and on specific days. This method is the most cost-effective and logical way to film.
The funds raised will go towards everything production related, from hair, make-up, costumes, equipment, copy machine/paper, and yes...tape. We need Gaffer's tape. Lots of it. (Watch the video;-).
Also included in the budget are Film Festival entry fees. Here's the plan: have an awesome Kickstarter campaign with HUGE social media participation, gain entry into and win/be recognized at one of the larger film festivals.
The end goal is film distribution. This story is awesome and unique! Getting the most amount of people to see/enjoy it is part of the core goal. The great thing is everybody can be part of something truly special! Come on-board with us on this adventure! Welcome!
