About this project
Youth of Togay has been a band that I have been proud to be a part of for more than five years. My friends in this band and the people who have supported us are some of the best and most positive people I have even met, except for our bassist, our guitar player, our first two drummers, our engineer, our record label, and myself -- other than that, some wonderful people.
The goal of the band was to have some fun, make some records and maybe do a small part for the advancement of LGBT members of punk and hardcore scenes around the world. We may not do it the way some bands have done it, but we've done it our way and we've enjoyed every minute of it.
Last year we went into our favorite studio in Boston and recorded for the last time. We recorded all original songs, half of them went on our split with Philadelphia's FRUIT PUNCH (wonderful dudes) and the rest we have had waiting to release as our swam song "Tranny Island".
This record represents our finest work. Musically it is mature and wonderfully whimsical and a fitting exit for a band that has made an impact on everyone who's ever heard us (loving, hating or laughing).
So we want to release this record for our fans. This FIVE song 7" EP will include the following tracks:
"Lust Laugh" (Our unreleased Slapshot Parody)
"Late Niterider" (...don't let your girlfriend find out what you did last night)
"Put Your Stolen Base Inside of Me #46" (Our love song to Red Sox outfielder and Mormon Hunk Jacoby Ellsbury)
"The Goop" (Our unreleased Champion Parody)
"Tranny Island" (our swan song.....)
We had some offers from smaller labels to release this record for us -- but, we heard so much great stuff about Kickstarter that we thought we would give it a shot. What we love about this site is that the fans ultimately become the record label. And that sounds so cool!
We will be pressing only 200 copies on colored vinyl in hand silk screened covers!
So we are setting our funding goal at $1183.
