Participate! explores how participatory experiences affect individuals, community and culture.
Participate! is a documentary film about participatory experiences. These experiences celebrate life by allowing anyone to step into a co-creator role. For many people this is the first time in their adult life that they have engaged in play and because of this, they feel transformed. Because this transformation is a shared experience, connections are made that enable community.
This funding is going to help us inspire people with stories of participatory culture from around the US, including Burning Man Regional Events, FIGMENT Project, 48 Hour Film Project, and Maker Faire. These experiences are part of global cultural movement that is engaging individuals in creative endeavors.
You'll also help us build an interactive website to amplify YOUR stories of participatory culture. Our platform will make it easy for everyone to create a mini-film about their participatory project. These stories will be shared online, and the best will be included in the film, so you can become part of the Participate! team.
