Here's the logline:
RUSTY COYLE, 38 is desperate to complete his 9th step in Alcoholics Anonymous (the step where you clean up the wreckage of your past) but every time he apologizes to someone, he inadvertently ruins their life. More than anyone else, he's ruined the life of his now-overweight high school prom date, KARLA HEIM. Trying to make things right with Karla, he ruins her life even further until the climactic moment when he inadvertently kills her violent, abusive husband by running him over. This actually improves Karla's life considerably, and Rusty's chubby-chaser best friend ISSAC WOYCZEK just might be Karla's soul-mate.

Hello name is Chris Bradley, writer and director behind the feature film Pitiful and Incomprehensible Demoralization.
I have a BFA in acting and I have been a professional actor for more years than I'll admit! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002222/ I have an MFA in film from UCLA (with a concentration in screenwriting). I am a screenwriting and film history professor at Arizona State University.
I wrote and directed two animated shorts, then co-wrote and starred in the short film Daddy's Big Girl in order to prepare for my first outing as a director, my short film The Violation (starring Beth Grant of Donnie Darko and Little Miss Sunshine).
TO WHAT DOES THE TITLE PITIFUL AND INCOMPREHENSIBLE DEMORALIZATION REFER?
"Pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization" comes from chapter three of the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous, wherein an alcoholic's loss of control is discussed. I love the poetry of the term, and its grimness fits perfectly with the screenplay's dark, comedic tone.

HOW CAN I HELP PRODUCE THE FILM?
If I make the goal by the deadline, your credit card is charged what you pledged (but not until then). I get to make the movie, you get your rewards, and everyone's happy. I'd be more than happy, obviously -- I'll be more ecstatic than I've ever been in my life, and hopefully you'll feel good, too.
- We are raising $50,000 through Kickstarter. The monies raised will go straight into equipment rentals, hiring professional actors and post production.

A lot of independent films that are produced locally don't have the proper budget. This one will. We are raising $50,000 (hopefully more) and the rest of our $121,000 budget through other means. We are hiring Screen Actors Guild actors, which means they are true professionals who are going to make the movie come to life in the most powerful way. The Screen Actors Guild requires that actors work under certain conditions and are paid a certain amount. This means a "true indie" budget is needed to do this film.
We're using a Red Epic digital camera. Between the quality of the actors, the equipment and the screenplay, this is a movie you're going to be proud to be a part of.
While we're shooting the film, we'll also be shooting behind-the-scenes footage so if you donate at the required donation level, you'll actually get behind-the-scenes footage unique to you. And at a slightly higher donation level, we'll bring you on the set to watch us work!
In addition to supporting us by donating, we need people to SPREAD THE WORD! We're going to be handing out flyers and invitations to fundraising events like mad men. We could use a little help.
