Kickstarter

We set out with an ambitious goal 2 months ago. What began as two guys a dream and escalated into a concept is now quickly becoming a reality. The past 60 days have flown by, and we our proud to say we did it! Though we reached our goal earlier in the week, we wanted to wait until the clock struck midnight early this morning to finally breathe a sigh of relief and toast some celebratory beers. We cannot say it enough, how amazed and humbled we are by all of your support. We ended up with 196 backers and 103% of our $30,000 goal!!

Some of you we have known for years, and we look forward to having you newcomers along on our new journey. We are very grateful for all of your support, thank you all again for helping us lay the foundation to get us closer to our dream. You all have helped pave the Oval! What's Next?

We previewed some of our next steps a few days ago, but wanted to update everyone yet again.

By now, all of our backers should have received an email from Kickstarter that we were successful, and Amazon will be charging your credit card. It takes Amazon about 14 days to process all the payments, then a few more to be transferred to our bank. In the meantime, we will be sending emails to all of you to get the pertinent information regarding your backer reward (address, shirt size, etc). We will also be emailing the details of the "We did it!" Kickstarter party on 4/21. We will have some Oval beers, non-Oval beers, food, fun, etc. Our friends at Eleven Warriors are also throwing a party that night and we don't want to steal all of their fans.

As for the brewery, well like we said in the last video, we have a lot of work ahead of us. We still need a location, but once we find that the rest of the pieces can fall into place. We now get to do the fun part that all small business owners go through... we get to talk with and spend some money on lawyers and accountants! Once we have the space determined, then we will get our architect and engineers involved. After we sign off ont he design, then we get our equipment installed. While thats all going on, we will be submitting applications, paying permits and fees to the State of Ohio and the federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. We still are trying for a fall/winter opening, but with complex projects like opening a brewery there are a lot of moving parts that can slow things down. But thanks to the Kickstarter campaign, we can surround ourselves with the best people to get us started the right way.

We will be documenting every step of the way here on our blog. We will try to keep the boring stuff to ourselves, and let you all see the fun/exciting things happen as we start the brewery. So keep coming back, it is going to be a fun ride.
