Set in 16th Century France, the movie, Germaine: Requiem of a Soul, recounts the life of Saint Germaine Cousin
WE ARE BATTLING HOLLYWOOD IN TRYING TO PRODUCE INSPIRING MOVIES. WE ARE ANSWERING JOHN-PAUL-II's REQUEST TO EVANGELIZE THROUGH FILM. We are currently trying to complete the movie: GERMAINE: Requiem of a Soul, a movie about the life of Saint Germaine Cousin, who was a poor young sickly shepherdess who lived in Pibrac, France in the late 16th and early 17th century. Germaine was physically and mentally abused by her stepmother. Though shunned and abused because of an unsightly skin disorder and a lame right hand, her faith in Jesus and her charity towards the poor allowed her to grow in holiness. She performed many miracles, and was exhumed incorrupt forty three years after her death.
We completed a 28 minute promotional short, and the trailer can be viewed above or right here. This is a beautiful and true story from which the fable of Cinderella was written several centuries later. Our production company uses University students who are in the Department of Theater and Dance for actors and for set designs. The main music: Misererei Mei was performed by the University Scola choir (hear the music in the trailer). They donate their time for the experience and we cover their expenses. We work on a tight budget. GERMAINE is our biggest project yet, but what a beautiful one. Our most expensive shoot is in Quebec City Canada, the only non-European city with a 17th century town square. Here we will film the miracle of the roses, which is one of the most spectacular and beautiful scenes of the movie. The director's favorite scene will be the parting of the waters: Germaine is seen by witnesses, going to daily mass on one particular spring morning when the waters were fast and high in the Corbet river. As she attempted to cross the raging river with confidence and serenity, the waters parted for her. A wonderous and mystical scene that was described in the documents submitted for her canonization.
