We love art. We love discovering it, we love making it and we love seeing others make it. We can't get enough and we hope you feel the same way. What else do we love? We love Star Wars and can't give enough praise to Uncle George for inspiring us.

This project is about providing the costuming community with a thermal detonator prop that is both beautiful and realistic for trooping, going to conventions, or negotiating more credits out of your boss when it's time for that raise!

Rachel has reinvented the original sculpt of her much beloved prop in order to make it possible to mass produce at a cost that is still reasonable, and also high quality. The new design is mechanically sound and locks together for easy opening and re-closing for the changing of batteries. Each item will be cold-cast in resin-impregnated aluminum, which gives it a very cool metallic look and allows it to remain cost effective and light. Each item is an art piece so allow for slight imperfections.

Our aim is to have everything delivered by the end of December, in time for all those gift giving holidays, so plan ahead!  Also, don't forget that some of our reward levels are limited to early-birds so don't miss out on the best prices.

The video didn't do the rewards any justice, so here are better images of the rewards you'll be receiving.

Commemorative sticker, four inch round, printed on shiny silver foil, which shows the prop at full scale.  In Aurebesh, it says "Kickstarter" on the outside, "Redlamp Arts" on the inside, and "2012" at the bottom.

Keychain, small scale (30 mm diameter) prop in cold cast aluminum with a Swarovski crystal rhinestone in place for the activation lamp, attached by jump ring and swivel to a large simplex snap.

T-Shirts designed by Preston. Both of our specialty ink designs are three colors, black, photochromic red, and metallic silver sparkle, and hand screened by Preston and Rachel on white 5.5 oz., 50/50 cotton/poly shirts. Adult sizes S-4XL and youth sizes XS-XL.

"DIY" Thermal Detonator, for the DIY savy, a thermal detonator prop in cold cast aluminum which will ship unpolished. Also included are assembly instructions, which include an electronics part list and schematic.

To the right of the main video at the top, just below the current funding level you will find a blue button to manage your pledge.  Selecting add-ons or adjusting for shipping internationally is just a matter of increasing your pledge  by the appropriate ammount.  Then, when the project is funded, we'll send out a survey for you to specify what you wanted added on to your selected pledge level.

Foreign orders (any non-US orders) will require that you add $5 to your pledge, so please don't forget to add it if you haven't already.  Thank you.

As mentioned in Update #4 (Day 11/ Street Team), we're looking for anybody willing to be part of our street team and help get the word out.  Take a picture of yourself with our flyer (pdf link) posted at your favorite game or comic shop, or on a telephone pole, corkboard, etc.  Just somewhere significant.  Do this before the end of the campaign (the sooner the better), and we'll add an extra sticker to your pledge for free!  Photos should be sent to redlamparts@gmail.com or tweeted to @TheOubliette.

*ACHIEVED!* We want to sweeten the pot a little, so when we reach $5,500 in pledges we are going to add an extra sticker to every level Diplomat and above ($5+).  And because we want those getting Thermal Detonators to get a little something extra, we'll be adding a keychain to every pledge level from Battle Engineer on up to the very top ($50+), which means an extra keychain for Quartermasters and War Merchants also.

*ACHIEVED!* As mentioned in the video, when we reach $6,000 in pledges, we will include a 3D printed ring stand for every thermal detonator prop.  The detonator is great, and you'll want a way to display it to inspire envy.  The ring stand will do the trick in style.

*ACHIEVED!* At $7,500 in pledges we will unlock the option of upgrading your free 3D printed ring stand from the more basic white strong and flexible material, to glossy gold plated stainless steel (shown here). This opulent, glossy gold plated ring stand is worthy of a Hutt's trophy chamber, and will be available for upgrade as a $7 add-on.

*ACHIEVED!* We are in the process of getting these designed and ordered, but as mentioned in the mid-project update video, we are getting challenge coins to ship with all pledges of $25 or more.  It is one of our ways of saying thank you for helping us to reach $10,000, or better said, 200% funded!

The final stretch goal, if/when we reach $12,500 in pledges, we're offering the ability to upgrade your t-shirt to a hoodie for $15.  The hoodies come in Adult sizes S through 3XL.  For those who have done add-on t-shirts, child shirts can be upgraded to small or medium hoodies ($25 total), adult shirts upgrade to large through 3XL ($30 total).
