Women wearing pants as a fashion trend really took hold after Chanel's famous bellbottom choice while riding a gondola in Venice in the early 1900s. In that same respect, pants have signified a historical liberation for women in this society. My love for pants is a true driving force behind the creation of Original Tomboy; I can't ever remember wanting to wear anything else. The first thing I shared with my patternmaker Gustavo, was my specifics for the perfect fitting pant, from that he created my first set of patterns. Now of course, Original Tomboy encompasses a whole lifestyle of clothing and accessories, but it all starts with a great pair of pants.
We are raising money to sample and start production of our Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Your generosity will be key to accomplishing this. With your support, we will finish sampling the collection, produce the photoshoot for the video & print lookbooks, and get the collection out there to sales & buyers. We have 25% of our fabrics bought, all of our first patterns are complete, now all we need are the funds to finish getting the samples made!

Backers who donate $25 or more will get a very special opportunity to be a part of the collection by submitting images of what an original tomboy is to them, and the winning submission will be used as design inspiration for a special piece in the collection. The boldest backers of the bunch will have a hand in the creative process of the promotional campaigns, with donations of $100 or more. We can't wait to see what you have in mind!
It takes a lot of money to get a collection off the ground, but we've come up with a bare-boned budget of $5000 to get the samples finished. With Kickstarter it's all or nothin' so please keep passing the torch so we can meet our goal.
