Spellbound is the premier game from One Wheel Wizard, a group of friends based in Atlanta, Georgia. Spellbound is a spell-slinging, action-packed game of multiplayer mayhem with immense replay value and the potential for a high skill cap, based on the UDK engine.
- User run dedicated servers
- Choose from over 60 spells...
- ...but only 5 at any one time, adding massive depth and a strategic element to your arsenal building!
- Variety of multiplayer modes including deathmatch, team deathmatch, king of the hill, team king of the hill, freeplay and horde, which pits you against unending waves of enemy spellcasters!
- Choose your wizard's attire, including a variety of hats and staves.
- Battle for supremacy of a world that was shattered and has been remade! Exotic maps where mana flows from cracks in the ground and pools amid desert oases!
How does it work? You'll choose five spells from over 60. These spells range in complexity from a short-range blast of damaging lightning, Shock, to the Icy Hot Tonic that heals and slows you, then sets you on fire for a percentage of the health you recovered. You can queue new spells into your arsenal, but they won't change right away. The limit of five spells per life, the variety of spells, your personal play style, and the tactics of your opponents combine to create a game with astonishing depth.
Of course, you can also sneak up on your friends while they're fighting and set everyone on fire.
Speaking of setting things on fire, here's my favorite spell, Seed of Fire: you unleash a beam of flames towards your cursor, planting a Seed of Fire on the ground...
...which explodes a short time later, throwing flames all over the place and setting opponents on fire.
Fae Fire releases a swarm of faeries to do your bidding. They stick to the ground afterwards and repel nearby foes.
If you prefer showing off your pin-point accuracy, Dark Lance puts you into Sniper mode. The camera detaches from your character, allowing you much greater view of the battle field...
...and allowing you to unleash a devastating strike that pierces walls and heavily damages your targets!
... but the camera shifting can leave you vulnerable to counterattack!
Those are just a handful of the visually stunning spells you'll encounter in Spellbound. From spells that simply help you destroy your opponents, to spells that encourage your target to move right where you want him, to spells that help you close gaps or make them (Rush and Dark Storm), to spells that replenish your mana with interesting side effects (Spark and Dark Pact), Spellbound gives you the freedom to be the wizard you always wanted to be.
Or, of course, you can just set things on fire.
Why We Need Your Help
This began as a hobby, but it quickly became a full-time job. In order to release Spellbound to the public, we need to cover operational expenses and we need new equipment. The fantastic gameplay and stunning visuals you've seen were created using five- and six-year old machines. To make Spellbound the best game that it can be, we need new hardware. As thanks for helping us Kickstart the Spellbound project, we're offering you the chance to play the game before everyone else, get snazzy One Wheel Wizard attire featuring our logo, and to leave YOUR mark on the game via wearable hats, equippable staves, or even levels.
Thank you so much for supporting Spellbound. We have had a lot of fun making and playing this game and we want our fans to experience that with us. Please help us make this game a reality. You can follow us on Facebook, Youtube, or our very own website by following the links to the right.
No, no, no. These are temporary graphics while we work on implementing core gameplay features. We will update these soon.
