So who am I :

My name is Josh Hallisey i am an aspiring Prop Maker looking to further my artistic portfolio, create projects for me and others who enjoy iconic film and movies, I would love to challenge myself with taking requests and making people here at kickstart there own props from movies and shows they love.

I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Boston Massachusetts.
Early in my adult life i became interested in Entertainment. More Film and TV props to be specific. Not because how amazing they can look but, the true emotional value they have to viewers and fans.

I believe in quality standards, even in my prototype i was a stickler for measurements. I have worked in the fields of Light and sound, for a major company in Massachusetts. Doing Light and sound work for many occasions. I have much experience making products by hand due to my prior years working in a machine shop. as a boy i built models to pass time so i am confident in my fine detail painting. and as an adult i was also a painter, and eventually dabbled in construction work.

What is my Kickstart Project:

My project is a replica Ghostbusters Ghost trap prop. My backers will recieve what is listed  for my rewards, if you are one of my big backers you can specify what style trap you want a ghostbusters 1 or 2. the styles are different. I am an aspiring prop maker, and have a high attention for detail. I want to apologize for my project video as i get camera shy.I am looking to attend Local shows  and conventions with my made props. And make as many as i can with the low amount of 1,000$. i will be making them with as many vintage screen identified pieces that i can. that's where the funds are needed as most parts are hard to find and over 25 years old.

Ghostbusters is a 1984 movie about 3 parapsychology professors who make it their  life's work to rid New York City of ghosts, poltergeists and other paranormal entities. 

What is my Goal, why the money: I am trying to recreate the amazingly detailed equipment featured in the movie. There are several pieces of equipment that where used in Ghostbusters.I will be making the Ghost trap to start, I have made A prototype for each movie took me about a day and a half to get all the measurements correct. to get the most detailed props i need to use vintage parts from the 80's and earlier. some of these can be difficult to find but in result is the best way to go. the second best is Resin casts but those are almost as difficult to find. 

What is a ghost trap you may ask?

A piece of ghostbusting equipment almost as important as the proton pack in the Ghostbusters universe, the ghost trap was used for detaining and transporting "busted" ghosts until they could be safely stuffed into the Ecto Containment Unit. Believed by some to entrap the ghost with a laser containment field, precisely how the trap works was never fully explained in the films The ghost traps were worn on the Ghostbusters' belts via a custom belt attachment, and each included a pedal for opening the trap remotely while a ghost was held in the proton pack's containment stream. Although the traps look similar in both Ghostbusters 1 and 2, there are subtle differences in several details as well as overall shape. Most noticeable is the colour of the tubes on the left side of the trap. These were red in GB1 and silver in GB2 . It is believed the smaller size of the trap in Ghostbusters 2 was because the actors complained about the weight of the traps.
