Who we are & what we do
We are Øst, Myggen & Liljeroth, a Scandinavian girl trio, who do reworks of our favourite songs. The original songs cover a broad range of genres; everything from old hippie-folk to contemporary electronic soul is neatly transformed into the ØML sound. Strong and soulful vocal harmonies form the core, backed by small instruments, mainly of the vintage variety. We started playing together as a live-band in 2010 and since then we’ve been touring in Scandinavia and Germany.
The dream & the team
For the past 8 months we’ve been working relentlessly on sculpting the sounds that will make up our very first EP. It’ll be out this summer on various digital platforms, released on our own little label, and we’re damn excited about this! But we’d much rather share it with you on a luxurious limited edition 10’’ vinyl! And here’s why:
We feel incredibly lucky to have hooked up with an amazing team of collaborators from various artistic fields – and even more so because these people have treated our project as a true labour of love! The EP has been recorded and mixed in collaboration with Johannes Smed (Soffie Viemose and The Boy The Man The Pale) and mastered by August Wanngren (Wildbirds & Peacedrums and Fallulah). The amazing illustrator Simon Væth made our cover art, and in collaboration with our always innovative web designer Mads Ringblom, a fantabulous website has been created, which includes interactive music animal animations. Our profile video was filmed and edited by Steffen Kvåle and Jón Kristján Kristinsson, showing scenes from our photo shoot with our best photographer friend Andreas Bergmann Steen and stylists Louise Bielefeldt Nielsen and Malene Secher Gaarmann. The latest addition to our team is the legend that is Stine Broen Christensen who is helping us create lots of über cool extra goodies for you guys. All these people have worked so hard to help us realize this project.
To pay our respects to the creative efforts of our team, our greatest wish now is to be able to show off this mixed-media project in the most aesthetically pleasing way possible: on a vinyl press of the EP! That way we can offer you the warmest and most detailed representation of the sounds we’ve recorded, and give you something that you can not only hear but also hold in your hand, while you take in the beautiful artwork!

Vinyl-pressing, however, is a rather expensive undertaking and we don’t have the funds to make this possible. And this is where you come in! With your help we’ll be able to share this beautiful art collaboration in the form it truly deserves. Rewards involving ØML’s participation, including Skype-calls, performances, concerts or workshops are pending ØML’s availability and the given backer's coverage of ØML’s travel expenses (transportation and accommodation as required).
You'll get a refund if the listed reward cannot be provided at the discretion of ØML, and in accordance with the above. In humanspeak this means that obviously we can't skip our uncle's birthday and get up at 5 am the day before we have a big gig to sing to you via Skype, but we'll do our very best to work it out to everyone's satisfaction, and if that isn't possible, we'll give you your money back.
