Update #5: wardenclyffe lives!
Hello everyone and thank you so much for your continuing support of Wardenclyffe Gallery.
Our first month has been incredibly inspiring. We've met wonderful people from all over - from nearby neighbors to touring European musicians. We had an excellent grand opening group show featuring the work of 38 local artists and we generally had a fantastic time until we were too tired to keep our eyes open any longer.
Very exciting things are ahead: two installation projects, two touring poets, Church of Tesla, a music show produced by local promoters Generic Mammal, the beginning of our Workshop Wednesdays, Private Lives Puppet Theatre has a meeting scheduled to determine our next season and so on and so forth. For those of you in the Austin area, please consider joining us for our closing reception: http://www.facebook.com/events/409459759066188/
Or check our website for details on upcoming events, and for a few nice pictures from the opening! http://www.wardenclyffegallery.com
Thanks again for your support! Hope to see you soon!
Update #4: wardenclyffe is rising!
Update #3: we made it!
last night's surrealist soiree was a resounding success. there was some beautiful music heard, wonderful costumes admired, good times had by all.
the party was a preview of things to come at wardenclyffe, and featured music from some of the bands booked during our south by southwest music showcases, including wave hands like clouds, cups + roses, ariel starling, the vril, francis morris, and the debut of an amazing new austin band, mountain mouth.
to get all kinds of details about the space, please like us on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/wardenclyffegallery
meanwhile, we can still use your support! we have just hours left on the kickstarter. all donations will go toward creating this vital, electric, living, breathing art phenomenon. we get keys on friday, and it is all because of you. we still need as much support as we can garner for our p.a. system, paint, lights, publicity, gardening, fence materials, electric bills and community art supplies. so please, share the kickstarter with anyone you think might be interested, and thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much.
an excellent video from austin musician and photographer lindsay greene, featuring music by bradford kinney of cups + roses, is here for your perusal.
