About this project
The Office for Lost Objects™ is a furniture design studio in Madison, WI, founded by me, Jarrod. I design modern contemporary furniture and other objects for the home according to a design philosophy comprised of the following principles:
-Respect the Super Normal.
-Revel in the infra-ordinary.
-Honor craftsmanship.
-Follow a logic.
-Express an integrity.
-Seek an essence.
What results - I hope - are durable, useful, beautiful, obtainable objects. I've done a lot of work already, including the design of the studio's brand identity, a ton of design and prototyping on a few furniture pieces, exposure of the pieces in exhibitions and on the web, and gotten some great validation from really knowledgeable people. The next step is to produce and sell some furniture - this is where you come in. The money raised in this project will go directly toward financing the first production run of the 10 Degree Stepstool, as well as packaging design, prototyping and production.
The step stools will be produced domestically, by local craftsmen, with locally sourced raw material. Sustainability is very important to me, both in the myriad small decisions that affect each product and in the studio's overarching strategy and ethos.
As rewards for your contributions, The Office for Lost Objects™ has created a group of very unique gifts, including several that feature artwork commissioned from some of the studio's talented friends.
I appreciate you taking the time to look at my project. If you would like to know more about anything at all, please contact me- looking forward to hearing from you!
