Update #4: Happy News!
Hello wonderful and generous freinds,
Great news on the MJM front. First of all and most importantly, we've released the first video that was created with your help! Mason Jar Music Presents... Laura Gibson was released on Halloween night and has gotten a great reception so far, including a generous feature on Baebel Music blog. Several of you will find your names proudly listed under "Executive Producers."
Second, we have now received all the "reward" materials from their various manufacturing companies and they're now ready to be shipped out. You can expect them within the month.
Also, if you haven't been following us via Facebook or Twitter, you might not have heard that we also recently had the amazing opportunity to work with Feist on a very special and unique new episode of MJM Presents that we're currently in the process of editing. We look forward to sharing it with you.
Thanks again for supporting our endeavors. Your generosity has made all of this possible and we're excited to share our joy with you as good things continue to happen.
Sincerely, Jon & Dan
Update #3: Rewards Coming Soon. Our Sincere Apologies.
Update #2: Thank You!
Update #1: NPR, Mayne Island & Laura Gibson
Thank you so much for all the generosity. We feel truly honored to have so much support and enthusiasm for what we’re doing. We appreciate all the donations, the kind words and the re-tweets, re-posts and other means of dissemination that have been employed to get the word out about our project.
We are also extremely excited to announce that Mason Jar Music Presents will be featured on NPR’s All Things Considered this Sunday, June 26th. Reporter Robert Smith came to our studio and our session with The Wood Brothers back in February and put together a piece about the series and the company. The story will run near the end of the 2nd hour of the program, and a web article will accompany it on NPR.org.
Just when we thought things couldn’t get any better, Mason Jar Music was offered a phenomenal opportunity from an unbelievably gracious Kickstarter supporter to reunite with Josh Garrels this August. We’ll be flying out to Mayne Island off the coast of Vancouver to film a number of videos with Josh and a small ensemble of musicians. In addition to the first episode of MJM Presents to be funded by your generous donations, we’ll also be filming a documentary film about Josh, the trip, and the evolving nature of artist/fan relationships in the digital age.
Again, we cannot express how amazing it is to have such generosity pouring in from all over the internet. If you can’t donate but still want to help or if you’ve already given and want to do more, please continue to help us promote this campaign and the MJM Presents series. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates about new videos and other projects. We’ll be releasing a stunning new episode of MJM Presents with Laura Gibson in the coming weeks, and we have all sorts of other irons in the fire, so stay tuned.
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
Dan & Jon
