We are Claudia Clyde, Yancey Strickler and Perry Chen. Three friends in New York who thought it'd be fun to make a book with some random simpaticos. Hope you'll join in, and hope to meet some of you soon!
Hi again
I have someone in New York for the next two weeks who can pick up my book for me. Any chance of this being arranged? Please email me at m.fox@nma.gov.au to let me know. I would very much love to have my book. cheers marlon

I was told I could have the book shipped to me and I haven't heard anything yet, so how do I go about getting it sent?
Hi, my friend was unable to pick up my book so could you please let me know how I now be able to get it. I'm sorry to be a problem. marlon brankovic
Ry, nice.
Okay, who's going to this thing? I'm going to see if I can fly in from Vancouver and stay for a day or two. Why is NYC like in Sept? Last time I was there was over 20 years ago and it was bloody cold but I can't remember if it was Sept, Oct or Nov.
So, who's there?
This project inspired me to do the same thing, only mine got finished in a month. I don't know which of you slackers still hasn't submitted work. Anyway to pass the time you can see the one I did here:

is this dead?
Congrats ... very cool !!
seconded what mattkenefick said.

re: the submission requirements of a 8x10 jpeg at 300 dpi....
the more i try to figure out (i.e googling) what this means and how to achieve it the more at a loss i become...
does anyone have a retard proof way to achieve those specs by exporting from iphoto 7.1.5 on a mac running os 10.5.6?
i'm sure i'm not the only one that's struggling with this.
thanks in advance!
congrats on getting there, and best of luck collecting the pages from everyone!! as someone who's shepherded many projects here at blurb, i can vouch first-hand for the difficulty of collecting from folks, even when everyone's got the best intentions, as we all do here.
second item of business - blurb's hosting a meet-up on june 10th at the red sky bar on 29th between park and madison. free drinks, awesome DJ, no agenda other than to hang out. you're all welcome. http://blurbredsky.eventbrite.com to rsvp. i'll have plenty of blurb books on-hand so you can see what the finished product will look like, and plenty of freebies too.
hope to see you there, and congrats to yancey, perry and claudia.
It's really a great thing here! I am looking forward to seeing everybody's stuff! Thanks for making this all come together!
Peace,
Brian
Hey Marlon,
we are using Booksmart and it calls for jpegs only. sorry! please submit to our gmail account noted.
not ideal saving text as a jpeg, i know..
do you have photoshop? if you type directly in photoshop it will help a bit with the fuzzyness.
thanks!
Hi
just wondering: since I'm doing a prose/poetry piece, can I enter it in directly onto blurb Booksmart - or would you rather it come as a jpeg. I have tried to convert a word document but it comes out a bit fuzzy.
Just discovering today Kickstarter and so your project !
Great idea, good luck with it.
Why not create a website (wemakeabook.com) around it ?
Have fun ...
:-)
My piece should be done today.
Hey Ryan, I think you still have to turn up at the party - I'll be coming from Australia - and hopefully staying for a while, since I'm there...
Can't even say how psyched I am to be a a part of this awesome idea! What a great Welcome to Kickstartr! Im def going art! page 97!
Actually 6 spots left. Remember backers isn't the number... look at the Pledge $30 or more section.
Maybe a naked portrait?
Alright I'm in. I won't be able to be at the party though so if I need to pay extra to have a book shipped to me let me know and I'll get more cash money sent.
It really happening! What is everyone planning on doing? Art, words? I'm curious to know!
Only three spots left!.. Yahoo. I posted this amazing project on my blog?.. I wonder if it helped..

:)
I am so excited that the goal is almost reached holy moly!!
there are actually ten pages left. if you look at the numbers in parenthesis next to each tier, you'll see how many people have selected that option, and how many are remaining.
This is awesome
Wow, only 5 left. Looks like this is actually happening. I should start working on a page.
You don't have to live in New York to live in New York :}
What if I don't live in NY :(
Great idea guys. I'm currently brainstorming a potential page, spreading the word, and getting others involved!
P.S. Thanks stacy lambe for telling me about this project
I'm gonna be sending this link around http://newyork.makesabook.com/ and spread it around the city a little with a few ideas I had. 25 backers in 11 days... let's make it happen.
looking forward to seeing everyone's pages soon enough. we'll definitely hit the goal if everyone promotes.
i'm on twitter (@sllambe) and tumblr (sllambe.tumblr.com). be nice to connect with each since its a collabo effort.
@Josh
Well, I suppose everyone should just cook up something assuming it's going to happen regardless and hope for the best !
I think the real challenge here is going to be collecting 100 pieces of art from 100 different people by June 1st!!! Best of luck!
think this is great - we're psyched you're using blurb to make this happen! hope to see you all at the bar afterwards to celebrate...
Great idea. Spreading the word.
looking forward to this project. now i just have to come up with a design - ack!
Thanks, Yancey! I look forward to catching up with you.
Hey Chris -- June 1 for submissions.
What's the deadline for the submission? I've got to put a little something together.
Wow, you hit the $1,000 mark.
