Update #18: You bought this for a dollar
So I added a $1 reward: "Your name goes in the glamorous backer list on our website."
What is currently the $10 reward should have been the $1 reward from the very beginning, for which I apologize. But once at least 1 person has chosen a reward, it can't be changed, so adding a new reward was the only option.
We've had a whole lot of small donations, for which we're really touched, especially because so many have been from countries where this "small donation" is a lot of money. The least we can do is put your name on our website, so if you've made a donation less than $10 and want this, please change your reward selection from no reward to this new $1 reward.
The $1 to $10 donations don't total to a lot of money. But that's not the point... they do total to a lot of people, and a whole lot of soul.
The fact that so many donations have come from places where $1 is a big deal says a lot about the importance of what we're doing. Because I have strong hunch many of these backers are storytellers, or aspiring storytellers.
We want to help you tell your story, and get it to a global audience, because although we deeply appreciate the gesture, the money is flowing the wrong way. Instead, people in places where $1 isn't a big deal should be supporting storytellers in places where $1 is a big deal.
Tara always says she hopes Novacut causes little Bollywoods to spring up all over the place.
And to all our 714 backers: thank you, everyone! We can do this! Please continue to help spread the word everywhere you can!
