Night of the Long Knives is a feature-length psychological horror film about three teenage boys’ descent into voyeurism, vandalism and murder.
ABOUT THE FILM
Night of the Long Knives, the first film from acclaimed playwright Eric Sanders, is a feature-length psychological horror film about three teenage boys’ descent into voyeurism, vandalism and murder.
Set over the course of one evening, the boys take a road trip to Concord, New Hampshire. There, they visit the town’s diner, kitchen store, bowling alley, and parks, interacting with locals, police officers, and teenage girls. But once the sun sets, they take out their digital camera and begin filming unsuspecting residents through their windows. Soon, they break into people's houses to film them in even more vulnerable (and dangerous) positions. As night turns to dawn the boys push their limits further and further, ultimately finding themselves in a situation from which there is no turning back.

The soundtrack for Night of the Long Knives will feature exclusive new music by Johnny Whitney, the acclaimed Seattle-based singer/songwriter of the bands The Blood Brothers and Jaguar Love. It will also feature new music from the renowned Romanian band Negură Bunget. More artists will be announced shortly. The soundtrack will be used both as the film's score and as a way to increase exposure for the film within the independent music community.
During a dead-of-winter trip to Concord, New Hampshire in 2008, Writer/Director Eric Sanders found himself walking down desolate roads past sparsely set houses and wondering "What are the people doing in those houses right now?" That experience, along with a near-arrest by an overzealous police officer (who'd heard reports of suspicious young people roaming the town's streets) led Eric to the idea for Night of the Long Knives.
Pre-production for Night of the Long Knives is currently underway in New York City.
The film is slated to shoot over two weeks in 2011 on location in and around Concord and Bow, New Hampshire.
We estimate that post-production will start in New York in the summer of 2011, encompassing editing, sound design, and music mixing. The finished film is expected by Fall 2011.
