About this project
Hi, we're The Union Trade, an indie-rock band from San Francisco, CA. Maybe you've heard of us, maybe you haven't. Either way, we're glad you've found your way to our Kickstarter campaign and hope our story, our music, or both will help you decide to support us.
In 2008, we released our full length album Everyday Including in CD and digital formats. Like all our music it was 100% DIY: written, produced, and financed on our own. We are proud of what we were able to create, but at the time we didn't know if anyone else would care. As it turned out they did, and we've been amazed to hear from people around the world about how much they love this album. Now, we want to put out Everyday Including as we've always imagined it: a collectable quality vinyl LP.
We remain independent artists, so to make this possible, we are turning to the Kickstarter community to raise $2,300. We'll use this money to press and package 250 vinyl LPs on 140+ oz. virgin vinyl in beautiful full-color sleeves. If we exceed this goal, we'll put the extra money into even better sounding, heavier-weight vinyl and more deluxe packaging.
To thank our supporters we've put together some cool, music-centric thank you gifts, including an affordable $25 level that will get you your very own autographed vinyl copy of Everyday Including.

The Union Trade made their debut in 2007 with the release of their first EP, “Now the Swell" which was quickly followed up by their first full-length album. 2008's “Everyday Including” laid out the band's vision of a lush cinematic post rock sound built on heavily distorted guitars awash in delay, epic dynamics, and minimalist vocals. Garnering the band praise in national and international press, and fans around the world, “Everyday Including” also earned The Union Trade an official showcase at SXSW 2009. Their latest EP, Why We Need Night was released in February 2011.
