Help fund the launch of Nomadic Sojourns Journal: Volume 1, a journal dedicated to the exploration of movement in a myriad of fields.
Why We Are Doing This
The Nomadic Sojourns Journal believes firmly in aiding artists and creative types in continuing to live in the urban centers around the world that inspire so much of the amazing writing and artistic pieces that bring all of us so much joy. We hope to raise enough money to not only pay each contributor but to distribute the journal far and wide across the United States and the world to bring recognition to the contributors' amazing abilities and hopefully, help our creative team members find more work with other like-minded journals and organizations. Their voices and works deserve to be heard, read and seen. We want to do our part to make that happen.
What We Are
We are composed of movement. Whether in mind, body, or spirit, we cannot help but move and devise yet more ways to move faster, further. We contemplate life in space, we fidget in our sleep, traverse the subterranean. When we hear a stirring eulogy, we refer to ourselves as having been "moved". The lack of movement more often than not leads to a decay in body or mind. Exercise is often prescribed to those incarcerated in prisons, mental hospitals, schools, corporate jobs. "Moving home" offers the hope for a fresh start, a new beginning, in many ways, a re-birth. The movements of wind and water, the movements of the subterranean, we have mirrored in technology the movements within our bodies.
This annual journal explores such movements, questions their intent, and begs the question: is movement the universal commonality that unites us as human beings?
Your Donation
Your generous donation will go towards the production, printing, marketing, and distribution of Nomadic Sojourns Journal (NSJ): Volume I, our first journal (hopefully of many more to come) dedicated to the exploration of movement within a myriad of fields.
With your charitable help, we will print enough journals through the esteemed McNally Jackson bookstore in SOHO, New York City to not only get a copy of NSJ to you, our readers and supporters, but to market and distribute our journal to bookstores around New York City and the nation.
Importantly, your donation will also go towards generously supporting the filmmakers, writers, artists, photographers, NGO workers, journalists, designers, and philosophers that have made this journal possible through their generous time and dedication to their pieces within and the overall design and trajectory of NSJ.
Our Future
Our future largely depends on you, our supporters. We here at NSJ hope that this is only the first of many annual journals to come. As movement seems to define our lives as human beings more and more across the globe, we here at NSJ see no lack for future content nor complicated maneuverings through our ever-more-complicated lives. We hope to continue our journey but can only do so through your amazing generosity.
