I just finished Riskwear, a sci-fi romance spiced with exhibitionism, fashion, and engineers. A great story deserves a great cover.

A kick-ass story deserves a kick-ass cover.

I just put the finishing touches on one of my novella, Riskwear. It's a science fiction romance novella spiced with exhibitionism, high fashion, and engineers. With the kick-ass editing help given to me by the folks at Logical Lust, I feel that this is one of my best stories yet...and a great story deserves a great cover. That's why I started this campaign. I'm not asking for charity; this is patronage.

Your money will be spent to bring something great into existence, and everyone who participates will benefit. All contributors at every level will be listed (if they wish) in a thank-you section in the book. The goal for this campaign is $500, which is the bare minimum to make it work - that is, to give everyone the rewards they have signed up for, and pay the artist. What do I get out of this? I get to see some kick-ass art on my book.

UPDATE:

The goal has been met!

But now that doesn't mean you can't still be a part of this awesome project.  There are still slots left at the $50 and $100 levels, which give you some nifty input into the future of this setting.  For $50 you get to rename a character; in the podcast novel world it's something of a tradition to name characters after other podcasters. Paul Fischer, for example, has been killed in more podcasts than I can name.  Pledging at that level gives you the right to rename one of the minor characters in the story. First come, first pick.

At the $100 level, you get to name a character in the next book of the series.  Need I point out that this will guarantee that there IS a next book in the series?  If you like the setting for Riskwear, this would be an awesome setting.

Finally, it should be noted that all the money that doesn't go to fulfilling bonuses for the backers will be going to the artist, Alex White. He's the author of The Gearheart and Maiden Flight of the Avenger.  You can see some of his AWESOME work here.  He's completely deserving of all the extra cash we can send his way.
