I've been writing songs on guitar forever. Now I've switched. Why this ukulele thing? I love the ukulele, the sound, the feel, so simple, tender and essential. My friend Lisa said it's a portal of innocence. I love that.
Also, I have become increasingly sensitive to my impact on the planet and have slowly but surely simplified my life. Why not simplify my music too? I can cart my uke around in my bike soooo much easier than the guitar, take it camping, on airplanes, yes, very user friendly. My intention is to make songs that are strong enough to fill one's heart with bare minimum of strings.
I'm in the studio right now with Robinson Eikenberry, my engineer/producer for many a past CD...so exciting! Ukulele, bass and vocals, that's pretty much all I'm planning to have; keeping it simple, letting the rawness show. So fun to be recording again.
You can help birth this little jewel. Kickstarter reminds me of the old-fashion barn raising: friends gather to help friends; such a cool concept. I hope you agree. The money I generate here will directly go towards recording. I will need way more than what I am asking, but I'll only get the money if I reach the 'goal'...so I want to make sure I get to the 'goal' I have set here. Feel free to go over the 'goal', pretty please!
In return, I will offer not only my musical and songwriting skills, but also some art work (did you know I got my degree in art?). By supporting this project, you support my expression and help spread the joy and the power of simplicity.
