Newtown Radio Presents...a benefit concert series for Newtown Creek
Newtown Radio needs funding to host a live show series in Bushwick, Brooklyn starting in September and running through December. Once a month, we will take over a the Los Hermanos Tortilleria at 271 Starr St in Bushwick and bringing four great local acts to the stage. Previous performers on Newtown include the Beach Fossils, Alex Bleeker and the Freaks, the Drums, Total Slacker, I'm Turning Into, Food Stamps and many many more. Each show will be broadcast live on newtownradio.com and archived for free download after the event.
Dates for the shows have been set and the performers for the first two events have been booked:
Friday Sept. 24th: Blank Dogs, Snakes Say Hisss, I'm Turning Into, and Sweet Bulbs
Friday Oct. 29th: The Drums DJ set, Eternal Summers, Web Dating and Miracles
Friday Nov. 19th: Chocolate Bobka to host
Friday Dec. 17th: KNIFEFIGHT & Chief Records to host
This round of funding will be used to pay for the first couple events -- staffing, audio equipment rental, promotion, and clean up.
5% of all show proceeds will be donated to the Newtown Creek Alliance (newtowncreekalliance.org)

Newtown Radio is located at the Danbro Studios in Bushwick, NYC. We're here to bring you hot new bands from around the world, undiscovered local talent and hidden gems from the past. Newtown Radio is live (give us a call on the air!), it's local (come by and say hi!), and it's loud (turn it UP!) If you're a new band and you want us to play your music or if you have a venue and want us to come broadcast live, let us know...we're kinda down with that.
