We know the road to a fully funded Megaloptura won’t be easy and that is why we need YOU! We promise to build Megaloptura in all of its shiny and goo-spattered glory with our goal of $20,000. The year is 2713. Half a century earlier the human race was forced to break free from the confines of their little blue green planet, as a result of over population. Food, water, and other resources had been depleted to critical levels.

Humans have been continuing to branch further out into the Milky Way forming settlements on every inhabitable planet, uninterrupted for centuries; until now!

Star date 47 - 15 - 2711: Humans colonized several planets in the star system known as R-59. Already inhabiting these planets was a large population of giant insects which seemed relatively unintelligent and posed no threat.

Star date 39 - 9 - 2712: A survey crew died in an insect territory from exposure.  Insects being scavengers, fed on bodies of the crew. They found the humans to be very delicious and wanted more.

Unfortunately it was not known that human hemoglobin acts as a drug to the insects with a very high addiction factor similar to crack in humans. The crackhead insects will DO ANYTHING for more delicious humans.

The insects devastated the existing colonies, nearly eating the entire population. To stop this from happening barriers called “pushers” were created that smashed the bugs if they got too close to a colony. It is your duty as a colony defense operator to keep the colony safe by defending it from the human addicted insects. 

Your Job: As a member of the colony security team you are called in to man sections of the colonies where the threat of carnivorous insects are the greatest.  It is up to you to protect the colony and its inhabitants from certain death.  When you do your job well, you will be given more difficult sections to defend.

The Enemy: Remember the enemy are the insects; they are relentless.  Remember the enemy are the insects; they are relentless.  On top of that they are fiendishly addicted to humans; there is nothing that can stop them, except total crushing victory.

At first the insects will be low ranking and easy to kill.  However, other sections of the colony's perimeter are under attack by much more sophisticated, deadlier and hard to kill insects; even insects that can spawn unless kept in check!

Power-Ups: Thankfully there are power-ups that can assist you in your job.  These power-ups range from speed increases for your pushers to thermo-nuclear bombs that can be set off in emergencies to get you out of a bad situation.  

Power-Downs: Unfortunately the insects will try to thwart your efforts with a few power-downs you'll want to avoid!

Planets: Given that there are many colonies in the star system, they are not all in the same environment.  The colonized planets differ a great deal from one another thus providing many different environments to secure.

Scoring: Your ranking and progress will be monitored by the colony security supervisors.  The more distance you can keep between the insects and the colonies, the higher your bonus will be.  Your score will then influence incentives such as free lives and nukes.  

Neuron Entertainment has been an independent game developer for over ten years, releasing games on PC and XBOX 360.  As we continue to stay away from those pesky publishers and remain an independent development company we keep our ideas and projects original and creative.  Our pursuit of perfection is only outweighed by our passion for video games and the people that play them.  Kickstarter is a great tool that will allow us to produce a high quality game and increase exposure to what we feel will be a game well worth it.
