About this project
Hi, I'm Ned Evett, I'm known as ' The Glass Guitarist '. I play music on fretless slide guitars with mirrored glass fingerboards. With your help through our Kickstarter campaign, you'll enable me to record my next album, which is being produced by legendary musician Adrian Belew. First, a little history about working with Adrian.
As a young guitarist, I saw Adrian performing on a fretless guitar with the legendary band King Crimson, my jaw dropped and I vowed to learn more about this strange instrument. Over the course of my ensuing life and career I built an entire style of playing around the fretless, abandoning conventional fretted playing along the way. I won the 2003 North American Rock guitar competition in NYC with my fretless guitar, a first for me and the world! Guitar Player Magazine calls me the " World's First Fretless Guitar Rockstar ", rock on GPM and thanks!
Flash forward to November 11, 2010, Milan Italy. I was nearly a month into a European tour opening for Joe Satriani, when Adrian Belew's Power Trio was added to the bill; this made for a great night in one of the word's greatest cities, and afforded me the opportunity to meet the musician who put me on the path. Now several months later, I'm going into the studio with Adrian as producer of my record, thank you universe!
When you make a contribution to this project through Kickstarter, you are making the collaboration I've wished for my whole adult life come true.
We have until the end of June to reach the $10,000 goal. If the goal is not met, this project will lose ALL of its funding. Don't let this happen! We did not frankly intend to go into the studio so early with Adrian, but this was the time he was free. Ned prepared very hard in the weeks leading up to recording. Adrian chose 14 songs for the album out of the 22 Ned submitted, which is a lot of material given the time the executive producer allotted for the studio. We had to make a quick call whether to cut the album short or extend the time. The executive producer approved more days for recording because she wanted a longer record from Ned. She hopes that the kickstarter campaign will help cover this extra time, because the outcome was well worth it.

Ned Evett's powerful singing, songwriting, and pioneering use of mesmerizing, mirrored-glass fretless fingerboards have added a new dimension to the contemporary roots and blues scene.
Winner of the 2003 North American Rock Guitar Competition, Ned was featured in the 2004 PBS Television documentary "Driven To Play ". This film documents Ned's victory in the event, and aired in all US states and parts of Canada.
Following the film's premiere, Ned began a series of tours with artists such as Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, George Thorogood, and Robert Cray. From October 2010 through January 2011, Ned embarked on a three month world tour with grammy nominated artist Joe Satriani.
Described by USA Today as “the entertaining master of the fretless guitar” and “the world’s first fretless guitar rockstar” by Guitar Player Magazine, Ned is based in his hometown of Nashville TN. He is currently working on his new album with legendary musician Adrian Belew.
The band recently added Lynn Williams ( Delbert Mcclinton ) on drums. Malcolm Bruce ( West, Lainge and Bruce ) plays bass.
