A new steampunk comic series about two time travelers from the year 1875. Discovery, adventure, and robots are on the horizon!
Agatha Frsiky is a new comic series I've developed with my girlfriend Kate Carleton. It incorporates elements of the steampunk, alternate history and science fiction genres, along with a large sense of humor, to give a unique comic experience. Try to think of it as The Time Machine meets Futurama.
The story for Agatha Frisky revolves around Edison Wells and Elizabeth Carrol: two time travelers from the year 1875 who become the world's only hope for survival. Edison is a retired athlete who seeks new excitement in his life, and strives to be the world's next great adventurer. Elizabeth, a genius inventer and engineer, buids the time machine that allows her and Edison to travel through time. They visit new time periods, adapt to different societies, fight off a robot uprising, and gain clues to the truth about mankind's future along the way.
I have laid the groundwork for an ongoing comic series, and with Kate's artwork I feel we have something special to show you guys. We want to release this first issue as a preview of what's to come. It will contain the first chapter of the story. After that, we are releasing the next four chapters in a graphic novel. All of the money we gain from this Kickstarter campaign will go towards funding the 28-page preview issue.
We want to print enough copies of this issue to sell at a good number of conventions in 2012. We're planning on hitting up the con circuit next year at least twice as hard as we did in 2011, which means we'll need a lot of copies! We also need to print promotional items like banners, posters, stickers, fliers, etc to really help get the word out about our comic. We need a little help with these costs, and that's where YOU GUYS come in!
