Hi AABG Supporters!

Since we wrapped up our Kickstarter campaign, we’ve been working hard to bring Awesome Asian Bad Guys to life. Here are a few highlights of what we’ve been up to.

Web Series Update
By far the one thing we’ve been focusing on the most is the AABG script. It’s the blueprint for the entire series, and we’ve been working closely with our super talented screenwriter Milton Liu to make it as kickass as possible. Here's a pic of one of our meetings with Milton:

New Cast Member!
Although we announced it in our last video update, we’re thrilled to welcome Dante Basco (Rufio in Hook and Prince Zuko in Last Airbender) to our already star-studded cast. We are big fans of Dante’s work and excited that we’re going to be collaborating with him. Here’s us with AABG cast members Aaron, Yuji and Dante!

Kickstarter Rewards
As soon as we reached our Kickstarter goal (thanks to all of you!), we knew that we wanted to ship out the Kickstarter rewards as soon as possible. So at the end of last year we shipped out almost all of the stickers, t-shirts, hoodies and books.

It's finally over, and WE DID IT! We raised $54,132!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR INCREDIBLE SUPPORT!! WE LOVE YOU ALL!

This afternoon at 5:26PM, we crossed $50,000!!!!!! That’s right folks, we did it!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We cannot say “thank you” enough for believing in us and Awesome Asian Bad Guys and throwing down your money to see this project come to life! Today was simply NUTS, and we couldn’t ask for more amazingly supportive friends, family, fans and complete strangers than y’all!

Extra special thanks to actress Tamlyn Tomita and actor Yuji Okumoto for joining us for our wildly successful telethon this afternoon. We cannot wait to work with you, the other actors who have already joined our cast and even more Asian bad guys! And additional thanks to our executive producer Phil Yu, who has tirelessly helped us get the word out through his Angry Asian Man blog! Thanks, Phil!

22 HOURS LEFT - LET’S FINISH STRONG!!!
While we are absolutely thrilled to reach our $50,000 goal, there’s still plenty of time on the clock for us to take Awesome Asian Bad Guys to even more incredible heights.

Like what kind of incredible heights? How about an Awesome Asian Bad Guys BONUS MUSICAL EPISODE?!!!!!

Now that we’ve got the funds for all 5 of our AABG episodes, we want to push hard for the one incredible scene we’ve been dreaming about this whole time - a crazy, all-out song and dance routine featuring our AABG cast members! We want to release this as a special bonus video that caps off the entire series, much like the closing musical number of Slumdog Millionaire.

We really want to make this sure to be incredible musical video happen, so we’re going to be pushing hard over our last 22 hours. If we hit $60K by our Thursday night deadline at 9pm PT, WE WILL MAKE THIS BONUS MUSICAL EPISODE!

We can’t stop now. We’ve come too far to just say we’re done. So please keep spreading the word and sharing the Kickstarter link over these last few hours!

When we initially came up with the Awesome Asian Bad Guys concept, the first person that popped in our heads was “that badass Asian guy with the fu manchu mustache and long hair.” We didn’t know his name or much beyond the fact that he’d been in tons of 80’s and 90’s action movies. Well, that guy is none other than Al Leong, who’s one of the amazing actors already part of our cast. Here’s what Al has to say about his incredible career and working with us:

With only 52 hours left, we’re now at a super impressive $36,744 (73% funded) thanks to 519 backers. THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who has pledged, increased their initial pledge or even increased their pledge twice (we’re looking at you Joe Gerics, Nelson Wong, Greg Voigt)!!!

Telethon Highlights
Fundraising via Kickstarter can be really stressful, but it can also be a lot of fun. In case you didn’t know, we’ve held several livestreaming telethons on YouTube.
