My MFA thesis work deals with exploring the boundaries between the organic and the mechanical, as well as where these intersect. I have adopted a cyborg persona whose role I act out in order to process my discomfort with my tenuous existence. I am interested in the confrontation between an attempt to break out of this heavily structured mode of operation and an acceptance of its conformity, which affords a degree of comfort.
This exhibition will culminate in various large format photographic prints, video works, sculpture, and audio installation. The event is tentatively scheduled for November 2012, to be held at the SPAS Gallery, located at Rochester Institute of Technology.
All donations will go toward the creation of work, printing/mounting/installation costs, sculpture materials, video monitors, event promotion and gallery reception for guests.
Rewards include audio selections from my work, various sizes of signed and limited-edition prints, one-of-a-kind photo collage works by myself, and more!
