Matriu is a small group of nerds in the middle of Silicon Valley with dream of building lightweight and open source IT automation software.

What is it?

Matriu AS is open source IT automation software that gives system administrators the power to easily automate repetitive tasks, quickly deploy critical applications, and proactively manage infrastructure changes, on-premise or in the cloud. What makes Matriu unique is that it’s extremely lightweight because it’s being built on the node.js platform.  This greatly reduces the usage of system resources over other popular open source automation software.

Matriu automates tasks at any stage of the IT infrastructure lifecycle, including: validation, burnin; provisioning; discovery; OS and application configuration management; build  and release management; patch management; infrastructure audit and compliance.

What is the project about?

It’s simple! It’s about building a open source automation software that doesn’t waste system resources.

Why are we building it?

These days when looking to automate the setup and maintenance of even the simplest infrastructure you will typically end up with a decision between two popular configuration management tools, Puppet and Chef. These tools are great projects but are built on technologies that can lead the waste of compute resources that are in ever growing need.

Why do we need money?

We have detailed design docs, a bunch of innovative ideas, and the nerdy skills needed to build Matriu AS. What we need is the time it takes create a lightweight, secure, and elegant open source solution. With our current jobs we simply don't have this.

Our promise to you is that the source to Matriu AS will be released at the beginning of next year.  After we open source our code, we hope to also provide paid support options for more complex compute environments.
