Big News at Narratively

Dear Supporters,

Yesterday morning we learned that TIME has named Narratively one of its "50 Best Websites of 2013"—and we're number six on the list, in very esteemed company. This came as a complete surprise (albeit an extremely welcome one, as you can imagine) and was an emotional day for us, just eight months after you Kickstarted what was then just a passionate community of storytellers with a crazy idea. We've come a long way since, publishing 36 weeks of beautiful, previously untold stories about New York City and beyond. We of course have a long way to go, but we welcome this recognition with open arms, and thank you for your continued support and feedback. 

If you haven't yet signed up for Narratively's weekly email, we encourage you to do so (we never spam!) so you can stay up to date on our latest stories and events. And in case you missed it, Caroline Rothstein's "Legends Never Die," which catches up with the kids from the cult film "Kids," became our most popular story ever last week, with more than 7,400 likes on Facebook. Please check it out!

Narratively/92Y: Tickets available at the door!

We hope to see many of you tomorrow night (Thursday, the 18th), 7 p.m., for Narratively's kickoff event with the 92nd Street Y, in Manhattan. You can now also purchase your exclusive $20 discounted tickets at the door by mentioning the "Narratively event." The evening includes chamber music by virtuoso violinst Christian Tetzlaff and friends followed by an after-party with complimentary beer and wine at which you'll mingle with the musicians and Narratively staff. A special evening with Narratively and 92Y

Hi there, Narratively supporters. In honor of our new partnership with the venerated 92nd Street Y, we're excited to invite you to a very special evening of music and celebration at the Y next Thursday, April 18. For Narratively supporters only, the Y is offering $20 tickets to its "Contrasts" concert series, which explores the rich texture and nuances of chamber music. For those who can join us for Thursday's show, your ticket comes with admission to an after-party featuring complimentary beer, wine and mingling with virtuoso musicians (not to mention the Narratively and 92Y staff, too!). An Evening With Narratively: This Sunday!

Hey there, Narratively supporter. After our successful launch party last month, we're excited to announce the second installment in our live events series. This Sunday, March 17, we hope you'll join us at UnionDocs, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, for an intimate discussion (and multimedia screening) with Narratively contributors about some of our most compelling and provocative pieces so far. The event is free to attend, though the venue has suggested a $9 donation. You can RSVP on our Facebook page and find additional details here.

Narratively Launch Party

Hello there, Narratively supporters. It's been a few big months since we went live with Narrative.ly, and we're ready to celebrate with you! This is, of course, just the beginning of a very long journey, and we'll have some exciting announcements in the coming weeks. But in the meantime, please come party with us in New York City on Wednesday, February 20! Our official launch event, from 7-9 pm at The Powerhouse Arena in DUMBO, Brooklyn, will feature live music and a performance by Rhinestone Gorilla Burlesque; a multimedia storytelling show; free beer courtesy of Brooklyn Brewery; and other delicious beverages and snacks from some of our favorite local purveyors.
