WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO DO... 

The Good Friend will be the debut children’s storybook unique to MyFairyTaleBooks current array of personalized children’s products. The story at it’s core is one of friendship, what makes a good friend and how to build strong character in our young children.

The main character of the story is your child, as each of our books will be personalized per customer. For example, Stacey, The Good Friend or Kevin, The Good Friend. In a time where bullying is on the forefront of many families minds, we aim to bring to market an age appropriate story with positive life lessons.

Aimed at preschoolers through early elementary, The Good Friend will feature personalized areas throughout the book. Mothers who previewed the book had this to say.

Our ultimate goal is to create an heirloom product that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

The Good Friend will require writing, illustration and production, which we aim to complete and make available early 2013.

While reaching our goal will pay for manuscript, illustration and initial production fees, exceeding our goal will prove beyond a doubt that that a market exists for The Good Friend. We'll then be in the perfect position to expand the concept into an entire line of character building books where your child is the main character. 

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP... 

Publishing our own unique book has been a dream of ours for 4 years but we weren’t ready to bring it to market until we had a strong, relevant concept that we felt passionate about. As small business owners, and most of all, as parents, we feel strongly that The Good Friend is a book that needs to come to market to spark healthy discussion points between parents and children.

Our Challenge...

Personalizing books creates a unique production challenge for printers. In traditional printing, machines are set-up one time and the full run of books are printed in one time-frame. Because of our personalization process, we need to contract with digital printers who will in effect, print for us on-demand as we receive orders, which ultimately drives up our costs. While we are taking every step necessary to ensure a cost-effective, efficient process we also believe strongly that our story is enhanced by the personalization that we provide- making our book unique and cherished by our readers.
