- I’ve already written and illustrated Devious Devin’s Blog of Pranks.
- I’ve already created many of the curricular activities associated with the book. (See a sample here)
- A team of developers have already created a working prototype for one collaborative graphic organizer. (See this post)
About Collaborative Response:
In a collaborative response environment, all students respond simultaneously, usually to a prompt, passage, or problem. Instructors don’t have to single out students to call on. Students don’t have to wait to be called on. Student responses create discussion threads. Learner responses can be viewed in graphic organizers and other intriguing visuals that give deeper meaning and build connections between concepts.
An Example:
A 6th grade class finishes reading the first chapter of Devious Devin’s Blog of Pranks on their tablets or other mobile devices. After entering a class code, students type ideas regarding possible causes and effects of Devin’s devious ways. All students’ responses are displayed in a fishbone diagram on the teacher’s screen. The teacher can read the thoughts of all students as they appear on her screen in real time. Students can learn from one another using this quick and efficient process.
About Devious Devin:Devious Devin's Blog of Pranks is an illustrated middle grade novel of 14,000 words illustrated novel written for middle graders.
Even though Devious Devin has a humorous tone, the narrator learns some serious, heart-felt lessons as his family endures difficult economic struggles.
My talented team of developers will be paid for the time and labor to create fourteen the end-of-chapter collaborative response activities, which will require significant front-end and back-end development.
