Matthew Rodgers

For a dead guy, it's amazing that he's still paying his Verizon bill.
This phone number was taken from his website, http://impresspress.com/, on the Online Ordering page. That website is the site he linked on his LinkedIn profile, under contact info. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/matthew-rodgers/20/682/189
Creator Jason Fordham on May 4
Brian, I wonder if someone ELSE uses his computer and maybe anytime the browser is loaded it auto-logs? I use Chrome that way: it loads many tabs and my password keeper auto-logs into all those sites (tabs). But it's ALL very weird, yes.
Creator Brian DiMarco on May 2
The disappearance still seems a little odd, unless I'm reading this wrong, he last logged onto KS Apr. 21, 2013. So someone's accessing his account...
Creator Jason Fordham on May 2
Mike, I'm in contact with the artist for this project, and neither he nor I have the SLIGHTEST idea what happened to Matthew.
I've even contacted a secondary PayPal address on his account (he did my POD for a game of mine). He's literally disappearred.
We actually fear for him,
I did a little research for his hometown; also to no avail.
Creator Brett Rabatin on April 25
He probably just used the money for the house repairs he commented on that were causing the delays, lol
Creator Mike McGannon on April 6
I just posted a message on the general forum on Board game geek to see if anyone has heard from this guy and sent a message to the artist who worked with him.
Creator Lasse Deepone Ylinen on April 3
@Kelley I have tried contacting via kickstarter (both as comments, replies to his messages, new messages) and out-of-kickstarter (email, including him, his wife? (the other contact info from his then-website, and to the mrwgames email). I have not received any reply, it's been few months. He did not reply even to just a question about the rules of the game (can you protect against someone taking a pot from your hand with the related reaction card if whole hand is exchanged for example).
Creator Brandon on March 29
@Kelley Callery - I have already tried contacting through multiple mediums but if you hear anything back from him will you please keep us inform?
Creator Brian DiMarco on March 26
I still stop by here and read for updates, probably fool's hope at this point that something will change. It's all quite odd, he was a relatively engaged BGG poster, last posted here 8/24/12 that shipping was coming, and then nada. I see on BGG the artist is still active there, not that he's mixed up with this guy's mess, but might know something.
Creator Kelley Callery on March 25
FOR ANYONE STILL READING THIS... I SENT MATTHEW THE FOLLOWING EMAIL TODAY:
Dear Mr Rodgers,
I am writing this as a last ditch effort to get you to fulfill your obligation to your backers. I have found out from Kickstarter that you agreed when using their site to deliver on your promise to your backers or provided refunds, if you could not or would not deliver.
I intend to organize the other 98 backers, besides myself and file a lawsuit against you if refunds are not sent to all of your supporters by April 30. Please do not continue to ignore us, or we will be forced to resolve this issue in court.
Thank you for your attention to this,
Kelley Callery
Creator Kelley Callery on March 25
Just So Everyone Knows... Per the terms of service:
- Kickstarter does not offer refunds. A Project Creator is not required to grant a Backer’s request for a refund unless the Project Creator is unable or unwilling to fulfill the reward.
- Project Creators are required to fulfill all rewards of their successful fundraising campaigns or refund any Backer whose reward they do not or cannot fulfill. So if he can't or won't make the game, he is on the hook for refunds. He has violated Kickstarter terms and conditions, and have left backers holding the bag."
I don't know... but I think we should all request a refund - and given the nature of how this has been handled by Matthew we should even look into to filing a lawsuit. It's clear he has just taken the money and run... this whole thing has been nothing but lies. No pics, no updates, no anything...
Creator Victor on March 17
I have reported this project to Kickstarter. I suggest all backers do the same.
***Possible Rip Off Scam*** This project was funded last year. His last update/communication was almost eight (8) months ago. I sent a message to this project last week. I has been over a week and I have not heard back from them.
I understand that life can get busy. However, I feel the project has a responsibility to keep its backers informed, in a timely manner. No updates/contact/information in over eight (8) months is unacceptable.
Please look into this matter and let me know what you find out.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
Victor

I think we can safely say at this point Matthew is deliberately keeping us in the dark and has no intention of fulfilling his reward obligations he agreed to when starting this KS. From his other accounts I see he is a family man. I hope he doesn't teach his kids to swindle others out of their money.
And if I'm wrong about all of this I'll issue a full apology if Matthew ever has the decency to address us again and clear the air.

Guys, people only rarely leave actively used domains lapse like that. I'm starting to suspect something happened to the man himself.
Creator Peter "Wizball" Wilson on February 15
Intersting the domain he is using mrwgames.com expired 9 days ago.
Does anyone on here live near or actualy know Mathew Rodgers?
Creator Bill Grant III on February 12
I'm curious who backed at the $150 level, or even the $69 level. I think I'd be even more upset had I given a larger pledge.
Creator Shane Lambert on February 5
I am quite positive that Matthew Rodgers is not going to ship the games. I am just going to say it, he has officially swindled me, and I will be contacting Amazon.com who handles the payments of this situation. I will also be contacting officials in Augusta, GA to try and get to the bottom of this. Taking money and not delivering product is illegal.
Creator Bill Grant III on January 21
If you want to get a little more annoyed, you can no longer search for "Who's For Dinner" and find this page on the Kickstarter site. At least I can't. I know Kickstarter hides failed projects from google but usually successful ones (e.g. Search for "Ramos Clock", which funded before this one) are still findable.
Is it a conspiracy or a coincidence? ;-)
Creator David W. Bauer on January 18
Nothing! No word! No update! Nothing! I believe we are getting the same! Nothing!
Creator eryn on January 16
It would be nice for an update, even just to say we were not forgotten. I don't know, just common courtesy.
Creator C.j. Hall on January 14
Maybe we'll get it by July of 2013...
Creator Bill Grant III on January 4
He last logged on December 27th so he must be aware his backers are very disappointed with no follow-ups. C'mon Matt, tell us something.
Creator David W. Bauer on November 28
Looks like we will have to pop from his website.
Creator David W. Bauer on November 28
I just tried to contact him twice to no avail. Went through KS and questioned about project that was funded but no return for the investors and they replied that there was nothing they could do.
Creator Gerald M on November 25
My math was wrong. We have are about 2 weeks shy of the 5 month mark if no update. I am worried that he or his family has run into a serious issue. He had a lot if small projects, personal and others, and with no one hearing anything anywhere I can only imagine it is something serious. Hopefully he or his family can give us an update on when this project may pick up again.
Creator Gerald M on November 25
I never received a reply to my text and I no longer live in the area. I was asked by someone that lived in the area if I had heard from him. I will post something if I do hear from him.
It may be a good idea to contact KickStarter since there has not been an update in 3 months.
Creator Kiwi Ham on November 16, 2012
Should we contact Kickstarter about this?
Creator Peter "Wizball" Wilson on November 16, 2012
Looks to me like we are not getting this game :(
Creator Brandon on November 14, 2012
I've tried contacting Matthew through Kickstarter, Mr. W Games, and his business Impress Press but so far I haven't heard anything back. He does have a Linked In account (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/matthew-rodgers/20/682/189) but I don't have one myself so I haven't tried to reach him from there. I'm really starting to lose hope here.
@Gerald M: Have you heard anything back from him? Since it seems you can send him a text message.
Creator Bill Grant III on November 14, 2012
I'm expecting the next update to be labeled "It's still 2012 somewhere, right?"
Creator Erich Becker on November 10, 2012
Seems like everyone is wondering about any updates for the game. it's been a while, I have already pledged to other games after this game and already received them.
Creator Kelley Callery on November 7, 2012
Hey Matthew, have YOU been eaten by the cannibals? Has an evil voodoo spell befallen our games? Please throw us a bone as to what is going on with this project... the natives are getting restless!
Creator Bill Grant III on November 7, 2012
I've had more complicated games scheduled after this one (Chicken Caesar and Garden Dice) come in already that I nearly forgot about this one. Did Matt forget about this project? He seemed engaged early on but 2 1/2 months is a long time for no comments or updates.
Creator Dave Rambo on November 5, 2012
He was on BoardGameGeek on September 30. http://boardgamegeek.com/user/zedturtle That was a full month after he said he'd post an update in a few days.
Creator Shane Lambert on November 5, 2012
Anyone hear anything yet on this? I am really getting irritated that the money has been sent and we get no updates. I am ready to contact both KickStarter and Amazon to get my money back so I can spend it on a game I might actually get to play!
Creator Lasse Deepone Ylinen on November 2, 2012
Have been trying to contact but so far nothing. Wanted to also clarify the rules a bit since there is some ambiguity on whether or not you can use for example "that's too heavy" when someone is trying to take that card from your hand (or the whole hand via trade).
Creator Gerald M on October 31, 2012
I attempted to reach him via text message a two weeks or so ago and heard nothing. Some other local gaming friends also had not heard from him either. Hopefully nothing too bad.
Creator Kelley Callery on October 26, 2012
Hey Matthew, did the cannibals eat our games? Last update said box issue was resolved and this game would be shipping soon. What's the hold up?
Creator Brandon on October 25, 2012
No communication from Matthew has been made since the last update which was on July 13, 2012.
Creator Dave Rambo on October 25, 2012
Has anyone heard any updates on this game?
Creator Alistair on October 18, 2012
I emailed Matthew yesterday, on the email address he's got on his website, to see what was up. Will post here if there is any sort of reply.
Creator Chris Barr on October 11, 2012
Any News?
Creator Peter "Wizball" Wilson on October 10, 2012
Any more news on this not heard anything for awhile
Creator Shane Lambert on October 4, 2012
Really looking forward to getting to play this game! Any updates on the progress?
Creator Kiwi Ham on September 11, 2012
Hey Matt...you never sent an update! Please fill us in on the details!
Creator Wayne Moulton on August 29, 2012
Awesome to hear! I was just checking up on backed projects and can't wait to get my copy!
Creator Matthew Rodgers on August 24, 2012
I had some trouble sourcing the telescoping boxes but that's been resolved now. Look for an update in the next few days... I'll show off the boxes and we should be shipping next week!
