We've launched an exciting new project of our own! Introducing the Kickstarter app for iPhone!

Making (Radio) Waves

Update #4 · Jun 6, 2012 · comment

Hey everyone! Yesterday I was interviewed live on 100.1 fm KRUU in Fairfield Iowa about LessonAdventure.com and using technology in my classroom. Tomorrow will be a rebroadcast of the interview at 8:30am. Surf over to KRUU's website and listen to it stream over the internet.

We are coming down to the final days of our kickstarter. We have a long way to go to get funded, so we are crossing our fingers, doubling down on the social media, and asking you to help get word out.

Thanks for all of your support and help! Go LessonAdventure.com!

New Demo to Try!

Update #3 · May 18, 2012 · 1 comment
We just launched a new demo! Save the land from the terrible vampire Baron Pencilvania! Please go to Lesson Adventure to give it a try.

After reading through all of our feedback, we decided to come up with a three stage plan of development that would address the best ideas.

  • Phase 1: Lesson Adventure turns practice worksheets into an RPG. A Tool +1
  • Phase 2: Expand the game elements beyond simple character and store options into a full blown RPG
  • Phase 3: Expand the learning components beyond quiz and grade to include higher order thinking skills
We are still on phase 1. If the Kickstarter is successfully funded, our summer jobs this year will be developing Lesson Adventure.
Don't let Baron Pencilvania win! Help Lesson Adventure's kickstarter become fully backed!

So glad to have Leedin

Update #2 · May 13, 2012 · 1 comment

One of the purposes of the Lesson Adventure kickstarter is to raise money to bring game animator Leedin on board. Hiring professional artists of his talent can be expensive. Luckily for us he is family to Josh.

Leedin is already working a job and animating for mane6's game Fighting is Magic. He has generously agreed to help us at a hugely discounted rate. Leedin has already donated some work for our demo. He just sent us in a final monster for the demo: a "Spelling Harpy."

If our kickstarter is successful, we will be really excited to jump at the opportunity to bring him on full time for a bit. I'd like to show you why. Previous to Leedin's help, I was doing placeholder art. It seems that being a good teacher doesn't prepare you well for video game character design. Here is the difference a pro can make. Please help us by becoming a backer or sharing our Kickstarter.
