The MOSAIC Festival celebrates diversity through music, food, and art. Join us in supporting our community's cultural talents.
MOSAIC Festival (JUNE 2nd 2012 Festival Park, Greensboro NC) is a celebration of diversity and culture in the Greensboro community through art, music and food. The event is hosted by CWS, a local refugee resettlement and immigration services organization, with the aim of fostering appreciation of our community's cultural gifts and provide artists and performers with a platform to share their talents.
What started as a small celebration for World Refugee Day more than doubled in size in second year bringing more than 3200 people out to downtown Greensboro last year to enjoy the amazing talents of our community. This year, we are expanding the event even further to include more than ever before. In order to do this, we are now working hard to raise additional funds to be able to ensure high quality sound production and most importantly, fair compensation of our musicians.
We believe that Mosaic is more than just an opportunity to enjoy tasty treats and good music (although, where else can you snack on Bhutanese pakoras and Algerian cookies while watching a Montagnard weaving demonstration and jamming to some Afro-fusion beats?). We believe is an opportunity to foster true community - across all lines of race, religion and ethnicity - in a way that makes all of us feel welcome.
We hope to keep the event free and open to everyone in the community to come and enjoy the amazing diversity of Greensboro, but we need the community's support to make it possible. Note: 100% of funds raised go directly to support the talent behind Mosaic Festival. Backers through KickStarter will not receive a tax deduction receipt. We will keep the KickStarter going through the festival so that if attendees love it so much they decide they want to contribute on the spot, they'll still have a couple days to do that. Please print or have your confirmation email on your phone to claim your reward on festival day.
