Hi, Friends! I am going into the studio in 2012 to create a new project!!!!
While it's always exciting to record, this particular project will be extra special for me because it turns over a new musical leaf in a sense. "What???" You may ask. Have no fear. Let me explain...
In Nashville (or any other music industry mecca), it's super easy to fall into this trap where you stop thinking, "Who am I?" and you start thinking "Who am I supposed to be?" For this project, I'm not going to lament about pleasing a man behind a desk. If I do, that's icing on the cake! Rather, my creative goal is simply threefold: please God, be authentic and speak truth through some GREAT music.
The project will be produced by Dove Award winning producer Rusty Varenkamp (WOW Hits, Tenth Avenue North, Jimmy Needham). Every song on the recording is either written or co-written by me and reflects a particular truth I've learned about God, life and love.
I'm using Kickstarter because it gives me an opportunity to connect with friends and music fans on a whole new interactive level by allowing you to actually be involved in the album process. Here's the catch: Kickstarter is ALL or NOTHING. That means I can surpass the minimum amount, but if we don't at least meet it by the listed date, no one gets anything. No funding for me, no pre-orders for you. Even if we're $1 short. Zip. (*NOTE*: Kickstarter funds are processed through Amazon Payments, so all information is handled with the same trusted security as ordering from Amazon.com.)
I have set a smaller goal for Part I. After we complete it, we'll launch Part II.

B) I believe that God has specifically called me to speak truth into people's lives through music, and if I'm doing something that people associate with Jesus Christ, I don't want it to be second rate. He deserves the best. In my situation, the best requires some capital.

Kickstarter is an all or nothing crowdfunding platform. In other words, if I get nothing, you get nothing. It obviously costs waaaay more than $500 to do a professional studio project here in Nashville. I chose to break it up into multiple phases instead of one giant campaign to make it easier for those who support me to receive their reward packages. I believe if I do my best to see that you're taken care of, you will see that I'm taken care of! :)
