Moot is all about liberal ideals and freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and civil liberties.  Each issue focuses on a particular topic (Racism, Gay Rights, Politics, Religion, etc.). 

We operate Moot at a loss and make NO money!  We do not accept advertising (although we publish it from time to time only if the companies support liberal ideals, but do not accept funds for it) and our subscribers are few as we are a new magazine.  

We publish Moot because we wanted to give a counterpoint, in magazine form, to the evangelical conservative "Christian" homophobic misogynistic racist right in this country.  

Our writers earn VERY little and we would like to be able to not only pay our existing writers fairly but also elevate our content even further with even more established writers, columnists, and content.  The cost to license photography and/or have our own created, create our "Moot Questions" videos on various topics like above, the cost to print the magazine and much more are just some of the costs incurred on publishing Moot.  

Having published interviews with Margaret Cho, Sara Benincasa, and others over the past 4 issues, we want to give our Women's Issue the absolute best treatment possible!

We hope you will support liberal ideals and unadulterated media by supporting our August issue which is all about Women's Rights!  We hope to make this our best issue yet and want to get amazing writers and civil rights icons to contribute as well as photo shoots with them.  

The money for this issue will go to the cost of the writers, the printing costs, photography, mailing costs, video (Moot Questions Videos or segments), and overhead costs.
