not going to lie- the last month has been one of the most brutally busy of my life, reducing me to a twitchy, shaking art troll who can't really deal with humans. BUT, I tore this painting into being. Was hard. Struggled lots. But now I kinda love it
Our Lady of Liberty Park- my tribute to Occupy Wall Street, and to Zuccotti Park's transformation into a mini-city built on mutual aid.
So many memories in this one- the cigarette rolling table, the cursed fucking drum circle, Sergent Shamar Thomas denouncing the cops and Tony Balogna pepper spray girls, and the hideous red piece of corporate bastardry that came the mark the ground the seemed to be, for a few precious months, brewing a revolution.
of course, no such thing happened. But those months. They marked us. This is as much as anything else, a talisman for memory
