TIME + LOVE = ??

I am working on a new collection of short stories and essays where each piece begins with an idea about time and with an idea about love, then follows them to see where they lead. Frozen time, time that flows back and forth, time modified by relativity (both physical and familial), post-singularity accelerated time, time from a divine perspective ... unconditional love, brotherly love, a parent's love of their child, unrequited love, or even the love one holds for the idea of what they once were, or what their children might someday be. Ideas worth exploring, and worth putting in print. Currently named after one of the stories, 'Time, emiT, and Time Again'.

I have four (long) short stories already done, and one essay started, and a workable sketch for the cover design (see a snapshot above), and I'd like to be able to send it to the printer before the end of June. This will cost me a minimum of about $250 - $300. In order to have time to get everything done in a timely fashion (some of the rewards include my writing stories from YOUR ideas), I've set the deadline in mid-May. Minimum funding just covers the setup & initial print run of paperback books; additional funding (especially at the higher reward levels) may actually increase and improve the contents of the collection. I'm currently looking at a 150-175pp collection, though if I get (or am given) any good ideas for stories or essays, this could go up significantly - the finished stories in this collection average over 35 pages each, so adding 3 more could easily add 100 pages.

All Backers will receive an eBook copy (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0) of the finished collection and get their name (or username / preferred handle) in a "Special Thanks" section of the book, plus the opportunity to become a Beta-Reader for this and future books I write. Being a Beta-Reader means getting access to my stories before they're available to the general public, in an unfinished state, and gives you license to tell me what to change (or what you love) about a story - at a point where your input can actually change the finished product!

I'll also be creating an original work of art for the book's cover. I haven't nailed it down exactly, yet, (see the sketch, above, which I colored in Photoshop) but it'll be a painting (acrylic on canvas), at least 12x24", possibly 18x36" or 24x48", depending on what size brushstrokes I want to use.
