Mobtown Modern is celebrating its 5th anniversary season and we're pulling out all the stops on our new music organ. We've also struck out on our own this year, which means that we really need your support to continue to bring Baltimore the quality of artists and programming you've come to expect from us over the past four years.

We're raising money to make sure we can take care of all the things--big and small--that allow us to present really awesome music and world-class artists to the Baltimore and Mid-Atlantic communities. We're talking about artist fees, audio technician, space rental, music rental and licensing, website hosting, program printing, and so on.

The good thing is that our 2011-2012 season is packed with some seriously amazing music and artists. And if having a chance to hear the JACK Quartet play all of Xenakis's string quartets or a rare performance of John Cage's prepared piano piece Sonatas and Interludes wasn't enough, we've added a few rewards to help sweeten the deal for you. November 9, 2011: Critically acclaimed Grand Valley State University New Music Ensemble directed by Bill Ryan

December 3, 2011: Phil Kline's Unsilent Night (the boombox Xmas parade)

January 26, 2012: Philip Glass's Music with Changing Parts

February 15, 2012: Adam Tendler performs John Cage's landmark prepared piano work Sonatas and Interludes

April 12, 2012: Michael Lowenstern Portrait Concert

In celebration of John Cage's Centenary, MM will present a Musicircus at a time and place to be announced. Very aleatoric, right?

P.S. If we end up exceeding our goal, we might even be able to add another show this season featuring a really awesome brand new work for percussion ensemble. Make it happen!
