All above rewards—plus my own personal working map of 1910 Detroit. This is a color copy of an historical map, mounted on corkboard and professionally framed. Glass-headed map pins, flagged with hand-written place names, show the locations of all the book's Detroit settings—including real ones (like Greektown, the Michigan Central Railway Depot, and the Ford Building) as well ones I made up, such as the fabled Tesla Industries or the demonic Hotel Acheron. Created, signed, and dated by author M.K. Hobson.

Hi Brigid:
Sorry for the inconvenience ... I did indeed forget to put a "no add-ons" box. So just indicate "signed/personalized" whether you paid for that add-on or not. I will happily sign/personalize it for free (to make up for the inconvenience) OR if you prefer NOT to to have my pen-scribbles all over your book, please note that in the box where I ask about the signature/personalization.
Make sense? Sorry again for the run-around, the surveys are kind of confusing :-)
Best,
Mary
Creator BrigidKeely on May 24, 2012
When I went to fill in my info for shipping, the form requested I indicate what add-ons I also purchased. I did not purchase addons, but there was no ticky box for "no add-ons."

OMG Wilson, that is WONDERFUL! One of the best Oatmeals ever. And one of the longest, I think! But there's lots to say about Tesla :-)
Creator Wilson Fowlie on May 14, 2012
Check out the latest Oatmeal!
http://theoatmeal.com/comics/tesla
(I copied-and-pasted the "motherflumpin' Tesla" section of your description of the book to the Facebook page of the Oatmeal - hope you don't mind.)

Sorry, I meant that I found this KS through the Kicking It Forward project website...not the Kickback project...lol.
Creator M.K. Hobson on May 12, 2012
Welcome, Legacy! So glad you liked the video, and hope you enjoy the first two books!
Creator Techgnostik on May 12, 2012
Glad to be a new backer, even if it's last minute. I found out about this KS via the Kickback project website and after reading about the first two books and watching the amazing video about this project, I just had to pledge my support. I've ordered the first book via Amazon (Kindle edition) and can't wait to read it with my wife!

Rachel, another one of my backers (Joanna F.) suggests that we go up to Straights where Mackinaw Bridge is and see Mackinaw Island. She says:
"... the island has remained the same as it was back in the Victorian time period. And there are no cars allowed on the island. There are all kinds of neat little things to see on the island itself. Plus its considered one of the most haunted places in Michigan. Not to mention the fact that Somewhere In Time was filmed there. And, Mackinaw Island is also known for having the best fudge in the world."
I definitely need to research fudge. No doubt about it.
Creator Rachel Koroloff on May 11, 2012
I'm glad you're now planning a research trip! I know several people who have worked on Detroit history for their dissertations. Maybe I can get some information from them about archives and what not. Anyway ... onward and upward!
Creator M.K. Hobson on May 10, 2012
Thanks, Rachel! And I want to do all 3. So there we are!
Creator Rachel Koroloff on May 10, 2012
Getting there with time to spare! Good job!! Also: I want all three extra stories. All THREE. That's my vote.
Creator James Bernard Frost on May 9, 2012

Hi Jan ... It's a valuable observation, thank you. Do you have any suggestions, or ways you've seen other Kickstarters do it? Like I said somewhere in one of my posts, I really don't want to soak anyone on shipping. If there is another way I can do it (or if there's a different kind of reward for International backers that I might offer) please let me know!
Creator Jan Hendriks de Geweldenaar on May 9, 2012
Just an observation from across the ocean: The sticker and magnets look fab, but due to additional international shipping the gap between the the $25 and higher levels is wide to make upping the pledge for them interesting.
Not a complained, mind you, but an observation.
Creator M.K. Hobson on May 8, 2012
Thank you so much, Arnaud! I haven't heard from anyone else who's read the sample chapters yet, so your comment gave me a big smile!
Creator Arnaud Jeansen on May 8, 2012
I read the first three chapters yesterday, and backed the project immediately.
Tonight, I ordered the first two books to help me wait for this one (not via the project, because of the international additional costs).
I sincerely hope the project gets its funding.

Nah, I can only report you as spam, Wilson ... and I would never do that :-)
Creator Wilson Fowlie on April 13, 2012
Never mind - just took some time to propagate. Feel free to remove these comments, if Kickstarter has that feature.
Creator Wilson Fowlie on April 13, 2012
Dagnabit - I typo'd my name. I've since fixed it in my profile, but it's still wrong on the backer list. Argh.
Creator M.K. Hobson on April 13, 2012
Congratulations, and welcome!
