You've reached your goal with 6 days left!

Thank you to all 59 backers who got us to $5000 in just about 24 days! This money will help us get the sound and camera equipment we need to shoot the live show material, and additional footage for the pilot.

But I still want to pledge. Can I?

YES! $5000 is the minimum goal we set that we realistically thought we could meet. Misguided TV is a series that we will be continuing to produce after the pilot is completed and distributed. This will take continued investment on our part, so YES let's get the Kickstarter funds as high as we can by June 8th! We've also added some new light-hearted rewards for the remaining 6 days!

What is Misguided TV?

Misguided TV will be a sketch comedy series drawing from Think Tank’s 5 years of creating and producing live shows and videos in Chicago and beyond.  The show’s format will combine a live theater experience with highly polished and produced segments filmed on location, creating a world where Think Tank’s hundreds of characters can exist and interact in a sketch comedy series unlike any before it.

What is Think Tank?

Think Tank is Brent Bridwell, Kevin Carroll, Paul Robinson, and Peter Stepnoski.  We will be writing, acting and directing all of the material in Misguided TV.  Think Tank has been called “a company with a singular voice and enormous potential” by the Chicago Reader.

Where’d the name come from? Did you start as a group that researches and engages in public and social policy?

Kevin has a giant mug he used to drink beer out of in college that says THINK TANK on it.

What is Kickstarter?

Kickstarter is an amazing place for artists, writers and inventors to find funding for our projects. In fact, it is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. What if you don't raise the $5,000 by June 8?

Then you won't be charged anything, as Kickstarter's fundraising is all or nothing. We will issue our warmest thanks to all of those that tried and keep you updated on the status of Misguided TV as we sell all our earthly possessions to make this series happen.

Can you raise more than $5,000?

Most definitely! If we surpass $5,000 we can continue to raise funds until our deadline. We plan to have the pilot done and distributed, with at least 3 additional episodes ready for the web by the fall. $5,000 will be a great help in off-setting some of the production costs, but more will certainly be needed.

What exactly will you be using this money for?

Kickstarter funds will help cover a multitude of production costs, primarily film, lighting, and sound equipment rental and purchases. We’re bringing in a crew to film the live show sections of Misguided TV, and we have costumes, props, and make-up to cover. We also hope to raise enough to put towards distribution and marketing of the show, and maybe even be able to compensate some of the many Chicago artists and production geniuses lending their hands to make Misguided TV happen. We have been saving money ourselves, but the funds we raise with this will truly take the project to the next level, allowing us to achieve a level of production once thought impossible.

Have you started shooting yet?

Yes!  We have taken our favorite scenes and characters and are filming the pre-recorded elements of the series.  The majority of our nights and weekends have been devoted to Misguided TV as we approach the live taping shows on June 18th and 19th. We have a shooting schedule mapped out for the summer and we should have 3 shows worth of material filmed by August.

So what's the deal with these live shows?

On June 18th and 19th, we will be taking over Stage 773 in Chicago to film the live theater portions of Misguided TV. This will be a fun weekend of live performances where anything can happen.  We’ll need a packed studio audience to attend and get loud for these tapings!  The Saturday show will start at 10:30pm and the Sunday show will begin at 7pm.  Stage 773, our home away from home in Chicago, is at 1225 W. How will we get to see Misguided TV?

We will be sending an exclusive advance copy of the pilot to everyone who pledges at least $50 (see the REWARDS SECTION to the right!).  We will also have a big screening party in Chicago for the pilot episode with a night of cocktails and Think Tank entertainment (Once again, see the REWARDS for how to get into that event for free!).  And finally, each episode will be posted on the web as they are completed for everyone to see!
