Who am I?
My name is Minoti and I have been singing and writing songs since I was 11 years old. 13 years later, I still have the same dream of making music that can be enjoyed by people all over the world, from different walks of life.
When I was 19, I moved from my hometown of Mumbai, India to Los Angeles, CA in order to pursue my dreams. In the past few years, I have gone through professional music training, even earning my Associate degree in Music Theory and Composition at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA, where I took a vocal training class under Charlie Clark (famous for training Gwen Stefani). After graduating from OCC, I released my first album 'The Fictional Truth' in 2010 at age 22.
What's my music like?
If you listen to my songs (for free) off my first album on http://www.reverbnation.com/minoti you will see that although I have absolutely no professional mixing or engineering in 90% of my songs (it's just me and my guitarist Vivek Vaishnav in most of them), I still have a variety of interconnected genres within my musical web. "Aren't You Glad" is just a little bit country. "One Day" is just a little bit rock 'n roll. I also have the quirky ballad "Coffee" co-written by the lovely Farah Sheth, and the teen pop song "Psychologist" that became a minor internet hit in 2008 through stereofame.com :

Through reverbnation, stereofame and facebook, I have managed to establish a very loyal fan base. Every fan comment means the world to me, and just makes my desire to make music even stronger.
Where does your money go?
With my second album, my goal is to make more music in my interconnected genre web so that there's something for everyone on my album. Perhaps my R&B/Pop number "This Town" won't do it for ballad-lovers, but "I'm Yours" will. Then, there's the dark, mysterious "Forsaken" on this upcoming album, but at the same time, there's also the funky, upbeat, feminist "(Not) a Damsel in Distress". Although the overall genre of my music is Pop, I like to experiment with different forms and make music that is commercial, but at the same time, not something you hear on the radio every day. In order to make really solid, good music, I need YOUR help. Every contribution means the world to me and every donation helps - no matter what the amount. Every single penny received will go into:
- Studio, engineering and production costs.

- The album launch event and marketing & promoting the album.

Why should I become a backer?
All backers who pledge $1 or more get a signed photo, their name mentioned on YouTube and on my website and a feature on my upcoming Kickstarter blog. With each amount over a $1, backers get all of the above plus two extra rewards. This means that backers who pledge $50 are getting 10+ rewards for their money and backers who pledge $100 are getting 15+ rewards for their money and so on.
It's not only about what you get for your money. It's also what this is going to mean in the future. I intend to keep making music and try to become someone in the music world. If I do finally make it, as a backer you will be someone who made this happen, and I will always give credit where credit is due.
I'm just a girl trying to make it in this big old world. Like Cinderella, I need some help getting to my final destination.
