Photo-main

Genre crossing euro-style adventure board game. Level your heroes through accomplishing their life goals and gain victory points.

Across the realm, ordinary souls are longing for their dreams. Some seek wealth or power, others seek knowledge, but all pursue their own personal quest. Guiding your party, you populate a fantasy world with adventurers and enemies, recruit new companions, and venture forth out into the world of adventure!

In Venture Forth, players have a party of adventurers who each have their own personal ambition. Achieving an ambition allows the player to convert that adventurer's "will" into points and to possibly level him up. All ambitions require the player to venture forth, which means moving his party from one site to another along a path. One of the main actions in the game is playing an enemy or adventurer card to these path spaces. Once a path is completely filled in, any player can choose to venture forth down it and encounter each card one by one, recruiting adventurers, defeating enemies, and possibly gaining treasure along the way. A combination of resource management, path planning, and timing will help you along the way.

Victory Points are used to score in this game, not dice rolls or damage or even the killing of monsters. The more you trigger your adventurers life goals the more VP you get. The more "despair" you receive the hard it is to score well.

GAME BOARD: The game board is double sided for replayability. Placing cards on the board gain you resources. This also completes paths that you can use to Venture Forth between the temples. Here is an example of one of the 2 game boards:

THE CARDS: Here is an adventurer and an enemy card example. They are played onto the board and then when you Venture Forth you encounter them. Adventurers can be hired and Enemies are slaying if you have enough power in you party or you pay thier toll to bypass them.

THE PLAN:

All games ordered from this Kickstarter event will come with the exclusive promotional card not found in the copies bought at stores. You will also receive your copies at least two weeks before anyone else will be shipping or have it in store.

We hope to have this game in hand for GenCon 2011 in Indiana but for sure at Essen '11 in Germany. You can pick up your copy up there and we'll even teach you how to play it.

WORDS FROM THE PUBLISHER: James Mathe

We stumbled on this game during a prototype convention called ProtoSpiel.org- being so unique in it's play style we just had to get this one to the market. We love finding indie/first time designers and making their work shine. This one is sure to be loved by many others.

WORDS FROM THE DESIGNER: Dan Manfredini

I was very excited when I found out that Minion Games wanted to publish Venture Forth. They saw the potential in a game that takes a fresh look at the fantasy adventure genre. The game play focuses on the individual desires of the heroes and how they interact with the world at large - who you recruit will shape how you play the game. For the past several months I have been seeing the artwork come along, and I am more excited than ever to play the upcoming edition!

WORDS FROM THE ARTIST: James Denton

Well I've really had a lot of fun working on this project. Minion has given me a chance to produce some solid art for a great game and I've had an absolute blast. It's been plenty of hard work, and we might be the little fish in a big pond right now, but I'm sure this is going to turn some heads. I couldn't be more proud of what we've done here.

ABOUT MINION GAMES:

Minion Games has created several board and card games in the last 2 years, but since we've already paid for 4 more to be printed this year, we find the cash flow tight - yet we have some more great games we wish to publish! So we come to all you great gamers for assistance in publishing one more!

While the game costs more than the $15,000 we're seeking here, we should be able to cover any remaining costs if we at least get that much. So please continue to donate even if we've reached the funding level. It's the only way to get the special cards.
