Hi, Mike Westcott here. I'm trying to make a record and I need your help. Sometimes things just come together, and that's exactly how I now find myself in the beginning stages of my new record.
With tremendous support, encouragement and musicianship, my friends Jay Turner, Jean Paul Gaster and Tommy Lepson have all helped to get this project started by joining me in the recording studio recently. These amazingly humble and extraordinarily talented professionals invested a great deal of time, focus and care to help make this record. We were fortunate to have been teamed up with J. Robbins, who recorded and mixed the album at Magpie Cage recording studio in Baltimore, MD. After 4 days of recording and 4 days of mixing and lot's of help, we now have "Justice Road" the next Mike Westcott record! This is a Rock record with a story telling vibe. I'm real excited for everyone to hear this record.
As you might imagine, making a record can cost a lot of money. I've been blessed to find professionals who are all working with me to make this a top notch album at an independent artist price. From start to finish there is the studio tracking, mixing, mastering, paying the musicians, cd manufacturing and the graphic design and artwork costs. I've teamed up with Kickstarter and amazon to try and pull off this unique Pre-Sale / Fundraiser with Rewards event. I dreamed up my own custom rewards (look on the right of the page). After the cost to hand package and hand mail each reward and after Kickstarter and Amazon getting a small fee, the total to pull off this project is $12,000. To a stay @ home Dad who moonlights as a professional musician this amount is out of reach which is why I come to you for help. There are only 30 days to make the mark and if we don't make it then nobody pays and the project will have to wait. So heres the favor I'm asking of you, please pick a reward and pledge an amount to help make "Justice Road" a reality. Tell your Friends, Family and everyone you can think of, post the link on twitter and Facebook and yell it from the mountain tops!
If we meet the $12,000 mark I will update this page and my Facebook band page with photos of myself packaging your rewards, and also photos from the post office as I mail out the rewards. You will receive the record before it's officially released to the public and you will also be my heroes for helping make a dream come true.
Again this is an all or nothing event, we make the $12,000 and we have made a record together. If we go over the amount I may be able to find some more rewards to throw into your packages. If we don't make the $12,000 you don't pay a penny and the project will have to wait for another day.

The Recording Studio and Mastering Studio combined with the Musicians and the smaller items like Copyright fees, and a few other legal fees, Throw in an External Hard Drive for music storage and a few shipping fees and we are already at around $8000. Then we have the CD and Digital Downloads themselves and that's gonna be over $2000.. Add on the Artwork and Design for the CD, and throw in Posters, T-Shirts and and other merchandise for all the rewards and we are over $11,000. After I box up all the rewards and mail them to everyone I still need to give KickStarter and Amazon 5% each so now we are over the $12,000. goal. When everyone gets there rewards I'm sure you all will agree with me, that it's all worth it! I think this record is that good!!
