I just wanted to say that I was also one of the first wave of backers, and that my refills have also been "breaking" not to they extent of yours but it feels like my cap is a little big (on the inside) and the pen has enough room to slide and push the pen tip back into the pen. This results in a damaged refill. Lucky, Ive never had ink come out! I just lose the ability to use that refill.

I dont know if it would be possible to RMA/purchase another lid, but I would love to stop this!

Great pen Mike..but have to agree with others... the pen is very delicate. Mine is already scuffed up. Still Love it though. Just keep that in mine for future projects!

Really love the pen, perfect wt and size for me. Only suggestion I have is that you put a notch in the tube to lock the clip in one place. With the black pen because I have been enjoying it I have noticed that where the clip touches the shaft there is a smooth line appearing from wear. If you put a dent in the tube and a matching dent in the clip you could lock them into one spot and avoid the changing position causing wear. Or I could stop fiddling with it... :)

My Crucible Edition arrived today, I've been writing notes with it all day - it's a great little pen and I'm really happy with my purchase. You guys have done so well with the design on this, it's a work of modern design art!

I'll be looking to order another in future, if/when they are available.

I realize that I'm one of the first batches of Ti2 pen...and while it was awesome at first....there was one fatal flaw: the pen refill kept BREAKING!!!!

Thought it might have just been an issue with one refill, but after having gone through 3 of them, and an expensive bag that's soaked in blue ink...I'm so sad :(

It's now just sitting there on my shelf, with no insides, and I'm too scared to use it again. It's just the pen-refill tip that keeps breaking off, I don't know if that's solvable?

I had intended to use it for a while and give it as a gift, but how could I ever gift it if I knew the pen refills breaks so easily?

Hi Mike! Wow! What a fantastic pen! The colour is amazing & the quality is astounding. One thing though: no clip. I got the spare refill & a baggie with the spare o-rings and a tip but couldn't find a clip in the parcel nor on the pen. Did I miss something?

Received my black edition this afternoon and couldn't be happier with it! The black finish is gorgeous and the pen feels wonderful to hold. The display case is also extremely well done and (silly as it may be) I was delighted that it ended up matching the color and finish of my desk so well. It fits right in. :)

My only regret is that I didn't add on an additional black tip - I went with the normal tip to match the clip (which definitely looks awesome), but now kinda wish I could mix and match. Will definitely be on the lookout for the storefront for that and most likely another pen.

Got my Burnt Sienna Crucible today. The pen looks awesome and feels awesome. But... the finish is very delicate! Within 20 minutes of normal usage at my desk the finish is already scuffed up. The finish is not what it should be for a pen of otherwise fine quality. Disappointed. :(

Some minor mods and mine is sporting a fisher cartridge.
Spare plastic straw from a water bottle. Is a liner. Fits in the pen body perfectly. The fisher cartridge fits in it perfectly. Insert it into the body.

Not get a spring from a old clicky pen over the tip of the cartidge.

Find something to act as a spacer at the back of the pen have the correct amount of the cartridge sticking out.

The pen is perfect--everything I had dared to hope for, yet even more elegant!
The rosewood coffin (presentation box) jams, refusing to open and yield the pen. Inverting the box works, but is inelegant. The box arrived without shipping damage, so I'm guessing this is a design or QC issue. Please advise.

for anyone still experiencing drying-up problems...
Stealing the little rubber tip-gasket from the cheap original plastic caps (from G-TEC) and installing it into the titanium caps of the Ti2 does the trick!!!
*note*- use very fine needle-nose pliers and a bright LED light to see into the Titanium cap ;)

I've been using my Ti2 for a week or so now and it is quite wonderful to use. The Pilot refill writes great and is perfect for both writing and sketching. Beyond that, the pen has that tactile and visual simplicity that puts it into that category of "simply nice to hold" objects. I find myself picking it up and simply taking the cap on and off, or rolling it between my fingers because it is enjoyable to sense the precision. Much like my iPhone, the Ti2 is just great to hold and use. Done right, simple is better. Nice work.

Just got the awesomest pen in the mail today! I love every it of it. I did encounter a tiny problem. Because I store my pen upright (or is it down right) with the clip, I noticed a tiny blob of ink collecting at the tip if the pen every time I open the cap. I reckon that's what the rubber nob within the cap of the original pen cap was meant to prevent. Am I the only one with this problem? Is it a problem with the refill? Anyone?

Love the pen, but I had an issue with the ink leaking onto the surface of the pen and tissues just made it worse. If this happens to you, don't panic, just use alcohol swabs and it comes right off

Mike, just got back from a few areas in Kenya which had no net so the pen was once again mighty. Your pen was the mightiest of all, I was offered shield, bangles and even a chieftains rungu for mt pen. It was a sure hit!

Another Aussie here - happy to report that I've received it! Nicely textured & weighted - feels great to use! Cap comes off with a nice pop :)
Also, not sure if anyone has noticed this earlier, but the Uni-ball Signo UM-151 refills will fit nicely in the Ti2 pen. The downside is that the Ti2 titanium tip won't fit over the pen nib, so you need to use the original tip from the Signo & even then, there is a small gap (<1mm) between the tip & the pen shaft even when fully tightened. The cap still fits on nicely though.
